Since 1996, had Elddis/Swift/Rapido/Rimor/Chausson MHs. Autocruise/Globecar PVCs/Compactline i-138
In our MH we have front seats that have the circular type adjuster knobs on each side where the base of the back joins the seat which are used to alter the rake and also to be able to fold them for when we lower the front drop down bed.

Trouble is that they are stiff and not that easy to grip especially with my arthritic hands, consequently I want to do something about them. I've considered changing the knobs for some sort of lever, or fixing a lever to the knobs themselves, but haven't come across anything suitable, another alternative is to see if they can be motorised but this would be more complicated and difficult although with his love of motorising stuff I'm sure Lenny HB could come up with something!

I don't know how the existing knobs come off which I need to do to see what's feasible - has anyone taken their knobs off and if so how?

Yes it helps a bit but in my case knob gripping is an issue too. 😆

I have Aguti seats with that knob, if you hold the backrest with one and moved slightly it takes the pressure off and the knob is much easier to turn. Worth a try.
I was about to suggest that.
The seat back is under spring tension so light pressure pushing forwards may ease it

Oh yes, the knob looks like it simply pushes on
Remove and lubricate whatever you can see behind it.
A couple of long handled serving spoons may help leverage

Thanks ... guess where we are! 😎 Don't suppose you could come early and bring your 'printer' with you as we return home in 2 weeks? 😆
Looks like we are going to miss you by a whisker. We set off on the 17th of this month. I do keep a printer and a scanner in the van for tinkering and on the spot repairs. I can make something when we get back. 👍😉

Ta, if I don't manage to sort it in the meantime I'll be in touch... Probably for a replacement for the Aguti knob I've butchered! 😄

If you do take the knob off and drill through each end for the handle to go through, I might be looking at filling the inside of the knob where the handle goes through with fibreglass resin or some other setting-type mastic, just to add strength to it and reveive some strain on the 2 holes you've drilled

Yup, I was a bit concerned about that but until I get if off I don't know what it's like inside. I won't be home for another couple of weeks so it'll be a while before I have a go but I certainly wanna get summut done to make it easier to use.
