PLEASE TAKE A SPARE KEY WITH YOU (see our
post above) we didn’t and we were locked out for over six hours. The Belguim couple who helped us has had his spare key fixed for four years some where under his van and has never used it! We did not have a Spare key and needed it, we now have a spare strapped under the van and he we hope we will not need it ever again.

there is a code number on the key, either order from ebay using that or from a few sellers they will cut the key from a photo

Cheers will do that, probably will try the eBay option.

Looks like they then also need "programming" as well..... that'll be about £5k here. Might be a task for when we're back in Blighty.

The hab key needs no programming, only a key to start and drive the vehicle. A remote ignition key can be sourced and programmed from about £150 in the uk. £350 at a dealership

I bought 2 spares keys last week from a local key cutting firm - not dealer. The hab door key was about £12 and the ignition key was £60. That that does not operate the central locking (about £150), but does open the door and start the engine.

So this at £55 would open the door and start the engine then ? but just not work to remotely open the central locking ? if that's the case then it's fine as a back up or just to get inside if i'd locked the keys in.

I carry 2 sets always.+2 sets of house keys.
