key????

Have you checked where you keep the service book/ folder? Also the storage in the rear door? also the small cubby holes either side in the boot.

Long shot, but have you tried contacting the previous owner incase they have found the 2nd key?

Just had a thought !
Inside the cover of most of the hand books I have had with the various Smarties I owned over the years was written the key details.. Have you looked ?
Handbook? what is that? nothing with this at all. only one key with it and that is the BasXXXd that ran off up the garden or wherever.
I will put even money that it will turn up. I think my wife is gaslighting me and it is working, I am going mad.

you could try a request on your local facebook group with a £50 reward if somebody finds the lost keys in the street. Somebody I know got home from a trip out shopping with their toddler. On hanging his coat up, keys were found in his pocket. Presumably picked up off the floor due to a brightly coloured keyring

The mum put a post on all the local facebook buying pages. About a week later the owner was found

Have a word with my brother Peter, http://www.remotekeyservices.co.uk/ he will advise you, it all seems a bit excessive and probably not that bad. ? Bob.

Cheers for the link,

Popped over to see them today since you don't need an appointment on a Saturday

And, I now have a 2nd key cut & programmed for my 2001 F150 :)

Well worth the trip from Ipswich to see them

I really hope it turns up GWAYGWAY I would be going mad

My mum lost her phone recently, looked everywhere and was about to give up when I said “ have you checked your dressing gown pocket “ .....
Guess where it was ?

Lost a key once, it had gone through a small hole in a jacket pocket and was in the lining.

Best of luck in your search.

Mine has a 5X1 inch cloth tag on metal , that is bright red bit too big to miss really.

Saint Anthony is your man, he is the patron saint for all things lost. Go out in the garden bare naked at midnight and recite the prayer below 3 times while standing on one leg. Job done, either the key will turn up or the men in white coats will and you won't need the key anymore.

O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and charity for His creatures, made you worthy when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me (state your request).
O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.
Amen.

Be careful taking that advice - look at Avatar. Ther are some evil people/spirits on the internet.

A few weeks ago I Lost my car keys, couldn't find them anywhere, backtracked where I had been, twice, searched the house, top to bottom, emptied all my pockets, twice over.
Then realised I had put them on the sofa arm, when I came in. A sofa I don't sit on. They had slid down at the side of the seat cushion.
Doh, but what a relief.
Have you checked your sofas?

I have two keys now, they cost £180 and a trip to Barking with the van and the smart on the back.
He popped out the ignition lock, read the coded pattern and put the blanks into a nice little machine which cut them, checked they turned on and then recoded them. Both work just fine and my wallet is lighter now, it did take a day out to 'BARKING', a dump if I have ever been to one. No doubt Murphy's law will guarantee the old one will turn up tomorrow. However, when I looked at his eBay site he charges £100 for two keys on a smart, but it didn't specify if that was to read the lock as well to get the pattern.
cannot really complain it got the damn thing going again even though it is mouldy inside from being stuck in the wet outside for a month with all the rain we had. Clean it tomorrow, after finding the old key no doubt.
Any good ideas about the best way to remove grey mould from car fabric? It isn't wet, just dry mould.

However, there is a problem with the van now, the wiper motor has gone on go slow and will not park or run properly on the intermittent and slow speeds. I remember from my earlier life that wipers are live and controlled by the earth. So I pulled the main connector that is into the motor, cleaned it and replugged which brought it all back 90%. tomorrow also means switch cleaner and lubricant to the plug to keep the moisture out. On the way home the right wiper arm flung off to the right and ceased to work for the second time now. needs a proper job on the knurled fitting for the arm and the drive. Luckily the nut could be forced a bit tighter to last until home in the lashing rain. Tomorrow is going to get busy, I feel.

Many years ago I lost my Hilux key.
Getting rid of a bedroom carpet and had to move the pickup out of the way to get the car and trailer near the front door.... No tip permit for the Hilux.
To make the carpet easier I cut it into three strips and while rolling the key must have fallen out my pocket.
On return from the tip went to put the pickup back......no key.
Only thing I could think, as it wasn't in the car or house (I only went from door to bedroom) , was its on the floor at the tip.
Back to the tip, no sign of it and not handed in..... Then it hit me.... Its in the Fiddlesticksing carpet.
Of course, by now the skip was full and I and a tip worker had to almost empty it by hand. Found the three rolls of carpet and there it was in the second roll opened.
Then I was left to refill the skip.

Really appreciate your critique of Maureen and mine's home town

But no offence.. We both think it is awful too nowadays

How frustrating, remember when Ihad an 1800 Goldwing with two keys but was anal about the possibility of losing both somehow as was told as Honda use the Honda Integral Security System could be over a grand,
memory not great but think it involves electronics plus new ignition barrel.
I have recently started putting ,round the neck cords with my current Honda keys on.
At least you got it sorted for a lot less money, hope you get the wipers sorted. (y)

Glad you finally got sorted Graham, ? so you never needed a new ECU and so on then, ? some people will tell you anything if they either not capable or don't have the equipment to do the job. ?
Auto locksmiths jobs are far more complex, than a locksmith that can cut keys and get in your home by drilling the lock, and fitting a new one. ? Bob.

That is what Honda tells folk, and yes, it is pretty expensive as you would have to get a new ECU, but no lock set if you are prepared
Take an existing key to a key cutter and have a dump key cut and stick it in the Honda wallet
If the worst happens and you loose both keys order the new ECU and two BLANK keys
Have the blanks cut to the dump key you have stashed
