Kärcher Window Vac WV2 Premium With Accessories

I use mine rarely, but when I do, it’s used upside down, and then from bottom of screen to top, BUT, only two passes, then off, (whilst still upside down) empty reservoir, then repeat on another two passes. Far from ideal but the best I’ve found for the odd occasion that I don’t use the silver screens.

This morning was the first chance to try my window vac fully inverted and the verdict is..... it’s still sprays water everywhere :xangry: As soon as there’s the smallest amount of water in the chamber, it starts spraying out through the motor vents. I had to empty it 4 times just to clear the screen this morning.

What it needs is a head attachment on a short length of flexible hose, so the vac can be held upright, while the head is used to clear the screen.

One day I might get time to have a look at making one, but until then, mine will be removed from the van again, once I’m home after Christmas.
We don’t have this problem, does the A class screen and side windows usually with only one emptying when we have finished. Perhaps they have changed the design, ours is fairly new. I think it is very good.

We have the Anniversary edition in the van and the latest normal version at home. Both came with 2 heads and the spray bottle.
Anniversary edition is easy to empty, just a different design to the standard one. I clean the windscreen and shower with ours, just empty it out after every pass on the windscreen if it’s very wet or water sprays out.
i don’t use the Karcher cleaning solution in the van but it works well on our windows at home.

Thanks for all your advice.

Well I finally got the anniversary edition and it arrived 'sin spray/nozzle attachment'. I phoned Amazon and they sent one out that same day as a gift. Now I have one in the MH and one in the house.

I did buy the cleaning fluid but so far not seen any difference between that and a single drop of washing up liquid added to the water.

Today I was practising using it inverted on the house windows with no leaks even when full. When I tried it a few weeks ago to suck up condensation in the MH it started to drip towards the bottom edge where the screen meets the dash. I'm not sure if it's the volume of water it's sucking up but I'll try inverting it to see what happens. I think it's a case of experimenting to find what works best.

The older version with the side slots does spray water, I put some kids cotton sock on it and that ensured the water just damped the sock rather than spray it everywhere, however with the older design you do need to empty it quite often. We also have the newer one without the slots and it certainly is a lot better and I can't say that I've noticed any water coming out of it when in use, upside down, side ways, or right way up. Our a-class windscreen and cab windows are done usually in 2 goes: the windscreen first with a couple of sideways swipes right across, then more sideways swiped half-way and/or top to bottom, this is usually sufficient to put a lot of liquid in so we empty it then do the rest of the main screen followed by the side cab windows/door.

I and others have made that suggestion before but I've not actually had a go at making anything but it could probably be done however how well it would suck up with the extra 'length' of pipe is difficult to say.

In the meantime ... stick a sock on it! :giggle:

Minxy Girl You’ve convinced me that a new model is the way forward, however moving up a step from your sock technique, may be a plastic food bag to contain any errant spray ?

I was always concerned that the spray coming out of the vents, would eventually get in to the leccy motor and wreck it, but now I’ve made my mind up to go ‘modern’ it won’t matter if I wreck the old one. I suppose that upgrading would also leave me the spare parts required for the extension hose modification.

The only problem with the plastic bag would be sealing it so it wouldn't allow it to leak but still let you empty it easily, the sock works well as the material soaks up the errant spray and it's simply a matter of removing it, wringing it out, hanging it up to dry then sticking it back on again the next morning ... surely you've got some odd socks kicking around?

Not sure ours 1 or 2 years old works fine upsidedown was using it this morning.
Ours came with separate charger base and 2nd battery but don't really need only charge the battery a couple of times a year.

Karchers come in various versions/colours but there are 3 main types that I'm aware of:

1. This is the older version of the Karcher with the slots:

2. This is the middle version without them and the one we have now:

3. This is one of the newer ones I believe:

I recently bought the middle one ^^^ when Amazon offered it for less than 40 quids in a flash sale.

Been trying it out on my 1960s house's very big windows and patio door, inside and outside. Quite pleased with the result.

The vaccuum bit seems fine but the squirty bottle thingy dribbles quite a lot. Battery charge has gone down to 2 bars. The area covered is several sq metres of glass that took 2 hours to clean both sides.

So far so good.

Yesterday morning there was frost on the outside of the van's windscreen, and the inside surface of the glass was soaking wet. This inside condensation appeared to be merely from the van sitting on the drive overnight, frost, and generally high humidity.

The Karcher vac worked upside down with no leaks, hooray! It sucked up a quarter tankful. Condensation started reforming before we could drive off, needing another wipe or three with a microfibre cloth.

This Karcher is a handy accessory. (y)(y)(y)
