I don't rinse the cassette unless there's a blockage, no point as it's only going to be used again. Annoying to get stuck behind some plonker at the emptying point who insists on rinsing it three times, shaking vigorously between ( guaranteed to dislodge the level float) and holds everyone up for no reason.

Reference please. I did a search and nowhere does the NHS advise say to boil the water twice . . . not even Great Ormond Street advise for families with immuno-compromised children . . . if it is needed then please get them up update their Web site, you could be saving a life!

I’ve just been googling and you’re right I can’t find anything! I just know that after a storm before we got a town water supply in NZ we were to boil twice to kill all spore type bugs. I’ll follow this up!
