Just crossed from the dark side, bought a moho!

After 30 years towing a tin tent, we’ve traded to a new Hymer Carado T135i Pro+

We went to the caravan and motor home show at Manchester last month, just for a look, and walked away having done a deal on the Carado. Talk about impulse buying!!

Anyway it’s now on our drive, and we’re busy deciding which bits from our caravan kit will be useful, and the rest will need to be sold.

Already got a refillable gas bottle from a friend, and ordered some seat covers and a thermal screen cover.

Looking forward to many years of fun.

Looks like this is the forum to be on, I frequent a few Land Rover forums, am a moderator on Disco3.com (not had one of those for years, but still frequently visit) Also on series2club.co.uk as I have a 1966 S2a Land Rover to keep me occupied.

Looking forward to some good interaction and advice on the motor home.

Cheers
Gareth

Whoop whoop 🥳look forward to loads of travel fun - welcome to our huge family 🙌

A lot of Motorhomers wouldn't dream of using an aquarol and/or waste hog. We as ex caravaners, still use ours all the time, so would recommend not getting rid of those items till you've sorted your water filling/disposal method.

The waste hog I can see the use for
(we have a 100 litre grey water tank and have never filled it, but it still needs to emptied every time we leave a site)

The Aqua Roll however I don't see any use for, I've had one sitting in my storage since I got rid of the frame tent a decade ago.
You would need an external electric pump (or a step ladder?) to move the water from aqua roll to water tank.
We normally use the hose to fill the tank, but have a collapsible watering can with a screw top as a backup.

But I agree, don't get rid of caravan kit until you find you have no use for it.
Unlike caravans, motorhomes are designed for frequent moves a night or three in the same place rather than a week or more as you would in a caravan.

Hence the classified ads are full of "stand alone awning, only used three times"

You had an aquaroll??

Luxury!!

When we was young I had to carry t' water. As much as mother could lift to pour from and as often as required...

Where do you keep it in t' 'van? You got some spare space too???
