Been on my Lambretta twice years ago as a lads week away, went once in the car, literally a day trip with the wife, now, finally, a week in Le France with the Mrs and in the motorhome. Not as lucky as some of you fogeys that are retired :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Sticking to Normandy, mainly due to time constraints and have no real plan as such other than heading as far as Bayeux and back using a mix of aires, camping car parks etc.

Looking on this very much as a recce for future trips and have already forgotten my camping car card, but anothers only a fiver so not a big deal lol.

If you press the button on the machine and say you’ve lost it or it’s been stollen they will cancel your old card and issue you a new one. Then you won’t have to set up a new account. Obviously you need to have sufficient euros on it. I could tell you how I know this but I won’t, Celine explained it in a helpful email last week shall we say!

Have a great trip. How long have you got?
 At a rough guess I'd say they've about a week. ;)

Turn right and just head along the coast towards Bayeux park up by dinner and then explore. There will be many recommendations but i like to find my own and everone's different in where they like to stay if you like the area stay if not move on to the next as there are so many and enjoy.

We prefer St Valerie across the bay I think it's got a nicer feel
We like that one too, but we went once and we’re really squashed in the line of vans, didn’t like that bit!

Le Crotoy has a lovely beach prom and the town with restaurants - but they are both worth a stopover!

Same here, we find Le Cretoy is just a muddy car park, St Valerie is more like a proper site, but is a 10 minute walk into the village.
Yes we used to use le Croty but always use st Valery now.

Only a week sadly
Le Crotoy aire should be your first stop - the town aire - it’s huge, and Le Crotoy is a lovely fishing village for a wander with seafood restaurants aplenty!

Have a wonderful trip.
We did le touquet last night and had a wander. Ended up getting tipsy in the bar in the marina and worried the staff that we were taking up a table for dinner service lol

I’m thinking if that one for Wednesday night before taking the ferry back next day as I’ve heard it’s nice

It is basically a muddy car park lol but I don’t mind that. Serves the purpose I need it to 👍👍

If you go to le Croty it's a pity I don't know the name of the place there's a waiter who is like a Basil Fawlty type he's so grumpy it funny.
ah!!!

I think i know exactly who you mean, we encountered him this week and he charged me 19 bleedin euros for 2 pints, robbin git

the bar next door we had the very same drinks for 12 euros, so we ate there as well and really enjoyed it, the sun was blasting out as well so ended up having a lovely afternoon

Is the bar outside the building, a hotel I think? We encountered a grumpy bar man in Le Crotoy, sounds like the same bloke.

Worth going to Arromanches for the D Day beaches and Mullbury harbour. has Basic Aires at top of cliffs over looking beaches.

Depends if war stuff interests you. I'm interested the other half isn't remotely interested. I was allowed an hours wander around a d day museum this year although I did wonder afterwards if it was an hour well spent!

very possibly

I think Val took some photo's so i'll post one or 2 if she did

we did enjoy it there though tbh, we started off in Honfleur and worked our way up the coast, Honfleur, Dieppe, St Valery Sur Somme, Le Treport, Le Crotoy, Le Touquet, Gravelines, Watten and finishing off thursday at Calais before tunnel yesterday

It was this bar but we ate to the left of it

The bloke we dealt with was a bit flamboyant and a little camp! It made the evening!

Have a wonderful time. We did our 1st trip this yr & wild camped infront of the of the pier at Dunkirk where they did all the filming for the film. We only found this out when we went to visit the museum. Well worth a visit, ignore the migrants that line the streets on the way in, us girls felt very safe.

Arromanches is the plan for tonight I think, we've just spent a lovely day and night in Honflueur, quite busy with busloads of tourist about, but had a great time, more importantly so did the wife. As for the D day stuff I do enjoy it, wife does too so we'll likely go to the pegasus bridge and juno beach museum too.
Only actually got tonight, tuesday and wednesday night left already as I have to be back at work Friday :-(

So think tonights Arromanches, Tuesday night not sure but will likely go to Bayeux in the day than find somewhere between there and Saint-Valery-sur-Somme which will be Wednesday night then a leisurely stroll Calais to catch the evening ferry back to Blighty.

Anyone got any suggestions for somewhere Tuesday between Honfleur and Dieppe?

Not on the coast but La Mailleraye sur Seine is a nice spot, right on the riverside where you can watch rivercruisers and ships pass by. Small supermarket in the town and a lovely restaurant just before the entrance to the aire.

Honfleur itself is pretty nice

Honfleur has a small Aires with electric but i think there may also be parking by the river/dock but been a while since we where there.

When we were there they were just putting in proper barriers it's a bit of a rambling free for all with electric a lottery

La Mailleraye sur Seine
Just googled it, does look nice and not somewhere I’d have thought of.

Yep it’s an option but do I want to stay in the same place twice? Cant decide.
Etratat or Fecamp.
I’ll Google them. Have you been? Any reason you’d recommend?

We were there last night busy but still loads of spaces and we got one with electric. Its only 5 amps but was fine.

Sorry missed the bit saying you were already there.

Either way, we enjoyed the trip on the steam railway that joins the two. 👍

If you are passing near Falaise (south of Caen) worth having a look a William the Conqueror's castle.

La Mailleraye is very quiet, but a nice parking spot on the river. Nice croissants and bread though from Mr baker in town.
