Isn't the handbrake on the RH side, of a RH drive van, because the base vehicle is designed with a bench seat, regardless of the eventual fitting of swivel seats?

Yes good point and the same goes for left hand drive on the left sideIsn't the handbrake on the RH side, of a RH drive van, because the base vehicle is designed with a bench seat, regardless of the eventual fitting of swivel seats?
My tester simply says 3 words......does it work ?They would get a hell of a shock if they tried that on a rolling road with a Land Rover - its a centre mounted transmission brake - pull that on hard and you end up going through the windscreen. Our MOT inspector checks the slack and very gingerly tries it on the road with a dynamic brake tester
Mines impossible to reach from the drivers side unless you're double jointed.....left knee round lughole to get on the pedal then on yer hands and knees trying to find the low level release lever.RVs have a foot operated park brake , impossible to reach from the other side.
Err... Toyota is Japanese.
If your seat rotates I would look at my link but if drivers seat is fixed then Kobran is OK
I've heard the Kobran in not such a good fit on X250 handbrakes
Does it make moaning groaning noises ?Mine has an airbag in the seat... Sorry that is windbag !

Can I recomend a army bomb disposal expert I hear tootles will be mobile again soon
I thought the purpose of using the rollers turning was to see if the brake is capable of holding the vehicle stationary against the force of the rollers, not stopping a moving vehicle. which it is not designed or intended to do. Perhaps thats why the manuals in both my Fiat and Mercedes vehicles says the parking brake must not be used when the vehicle is moving.Actually Andy, it isn't.
It primary purpose is an emergency service brake.
That's why, on the MOT, it's tested with the rollers turning...same as foot brake, rather than stationary.
