We won't run out of room!
We can get at least 60 units on the main car park at the front and then there's another car park at the back and parking all around the disused retail outlet. At a push we could probably handle 100 units.

Maybe this might be christened "The Monkey Hangers Rally" ? In my youth I'd go to motorcycle meets around the country and that was a favourite.
Mike if you want helpers? I'll be on my own Thu Fri so available (y)

Thanks Andy, I will be taking you up on that offer as it looks like we might have quite a few turning up!

Hey Mike, on the RSVP list, why are some of the names in bold italics and some are not ?

Favouritism :xgrin:

More to the point why have a fecking NO response on a rally thread. Hilldweller being Hilldweller has ticked the NO box on one of the Whitby threads. Whats that about?

From my point of view, since I've been to so many, I'm acknowledging I've seen the offer but don't want to go this time. Just being sociable but you are right quite not a lot of logic in it.

I haven't a clue and I was wondering that myself.
Maybe @Jim could explain it

Not noticed before, but a quick look and it seems that if you RSVP with a comment, then you are shown in italic.

We don't have a 'fecking no', a simple no is much more polite.:xsmile:

The no option is built into the events system, and for most rallies is surplus to requirements. It would cost money to remove and may well come in handy down the line, so I left it in.

@Jim I like this RSVP system. There's no endless updating of lists of attendees (y)
The only thing missing is a count of the "maybes" to see what the potential total might be. At the moment I have to count manually which takes at least, well 5 seconds. But at my age 5 seconds saved is another 5 seconds I could have spent enjoying myself!x:-)

Today is the 100th anniversary of the bombardment of Hartlepool by the German Navy in WW1.
It is the only WW1 battlefield on British soil as the Heugh battery returned fire causing damage to the German ships.
The Heugh battery is preserved and has an interesting visitor centre only a short bus ride/bike ride from the rally site.
The full story is here: http://www.heughbattery.com/bombardment.html

Joined 'Fun on Andy Techno 100's recommendation. We are looking forward to meeting some of you at Hartlepool, if not before!
Welcome to Fun! I'm sure you'll enjoy meeting some of the other Funsters at Hartlepool.

Looking forward to a trip back 'up North', I'd better get the Bobby Thompson tapes out to get the accent up to scratch, I might even manage to venture 'home', not that I've lived up there since the 1970's.
