John Cross Ltd Auction

Cant understand why she didnt sell the business or offer it to the staff to buy it out.
Presume she's in the same age bracket as he was so probably didnt want the hassle. However, it struck me that the site would probably realise more money if it was demolished and turned over to housing, providing PP approved, much easier when applying on a brown field site.

tre bt there ever sed to be a 'bers premim' ow they want it both ends
As pointed out before, don't buy then if you don't like it.
The shop isn't charging the supplier to sell the product, only me for buying it.
No, but instead the shop is paying the supplier as little as possible to maximise its profit. It's all market economics.

No they don't, buyers premium is a new thing, I have been buying and selling stuff in markets for 60 years and never paid any buyers premium it's only this last 10 years that this buyers premium thing has took off.
Most agricultural auctions still don't have it.
So what? If you don't like the way a business operates don't use that business. Simple enough.

There is no buyers premium with eBay, what you bid is what you pay.
There are far less expenses for eBay than a traditional auction house.
eBay has also found some sellers ceasing to use the site because the combined total of eBay and PayPal fees is too high (which comes back to the points I made this mrning).

As pointed out before, don't buy then if you don't like it.
I wouldn't .Too expensive.
As a kid I used to help out "humping" stuff around and was a runner on Auction day

Buyers premium was an established practice then and that is 45 years ago
As Jim said ,christie's invented it & it was never used at any auction I used until in to the early 80's.
