JJ arrives in Benidorm.

Who in their right mind would spend 15 Euros PER NIGHT to sleep here...

And had to drive through this to get there...

Typical Benidorm retail outlet... one of the many selling the same things...

Benidorm... an experience I will never forget... and I haven't started on about the pneumatic road drill firing up just the other side of the fence at 8 am.

Javea is nice though.

JJ

Your not wrong about Javea

A pleasant 22 degrees here after you left. Are you related to Laneside by any chance ?.

Glad the parking spot is up to your standards JJ, if you want a shower in the morning bring your stuff with you.
;) Of course I would have the cleaner in there beforehand.
Perhaps my people can sort some wifi out for you. (y)
Great evening and good company as usual. :D Bob and Janie.

Perhaps my people .

See, JJ's decadence is corrupting us, bit by bit, the celebrity showbiz life style is turning our brains.

You were just ordinary nice FUNsters once, now you have people.

I didn't get where I am today by having people.

I have, on many occasions considered Benidorm just one step from Hades and all therein !
J.J's post confirms my view !:whistle2::whistle2::whistle2::restmycase::restmycase::restmycase:

A lot of campers would disagree,Benidorm is rammed full of motor homes and caravans from all over Northern Europe. Here on Raco which is a large site they're having to use a overflow area to accommodate new arrivals as all the pitches are taken
Alan

It's also quite full here on the Algarve, there is plenty of space and choices to suit all tastes throughout Iberia. Nobody is made to go anywhere they don't like, if you don't like a place go somewhere else, lots of choice.
Personally I like quiet, but have enjoyed Benidorm in the past for short breaks.:)

yes.. and the very reason we don't like it.. we also also prefer quiet, .. don't do bars and clubs.. or big sites.

as said.. there is plenty of choice in Iberia .. something for everyone.. (y)

We do like the occasional tipple but usually use local bars rather than the ones on site, clubs never.

However we have found that on large sites it is quite often easier to keep a low profile and maintain your own space with no pressure to join in with other folks idea of a good time.:)

our experience on big sites and particularly those with bars, you get awakened by drunken revelers returning to their vans in the wee small hours..

not saying that's wrong.. it's just not our thing, so better to avoid rather than have sleepless nights and wishing we hadn't booked in.. there's plenty of choice..

sites with bars / clubs .. we keep away

We must have been lucky with the big sites we have been on, very rarely any problems from people returning from site bars but occasionally from other campers partying outdoors or in their soundproof awnings:LOL:.

Never been on a site with a club and have no intention of ever doing so.:)

No sign of snow in our bit of the Algarve and it is 16 degrees already before 10 am on Sunday morning

"She added that light rain in southern Portugal is expected to turn to snow in high-lying areas such as the Monchique mountain range in the Algarve."

Not where we are:)

I must admit, I would be "gutted" if I had gone South for winter and found myself in UK weather, but I understand, it is a rare occurrence .. Hope you all enjoy yourselves..
We will be there next winter to 'give it a try' PS.. We will try a bit of our normal "freeloading tossers" there as usual, but suspect we will go into a "stalag", so we don't have to trek around emptying and refilling various fluids !!
The exchange rate will soon be VERY interesting... and a site will cost "pennies"
Mitch.

No it's not, we/they tend to report/remember the good days and gloss over the bad ones. 2012, Benidorm, about now there was a mini tornado in the bay and a bit of snow on the hills. There were good parts of days and could not stand up days and quite early the front was dark and deserted.

By the thermometer better than UK but OK rather than great.

The Moroccan division seem to be doing better, as you would expect but huge temperature swings.

Trying to post some pics from Javea... a beautiful place.

Parked 2 minutes from Bob and Janey's site (which is full.)

My parkup is peaceful, quiet and only 70 metres from the Tyre/Battery specialist which is good because my engine battery died on Friday. Just walked over to the place, handed over €147 and got a new one.

No pics yet as McD's internet seems a bit slow today.

No lucky, that is the norm..in almost 30 years of high season camping can count disturbances on the fingers of one hand:rolleyes:

Got one yesterday! No m'tance 95 amp in Totana!!! €95!!!!

What a pity I didn't know this! :Eeek:

Rather than just pop across the road, I could have jump started the van and driven 115 miles where I could have bought a 95 amp battery, rather than a Mercedes 100 amp one and saved €53 .

Never mind... a fool and his money are soon parted.
