Just spend 5 nights at Jim's cracking site at Sutton on Sea .. it is one of the best small sites we have had the privilege to stay on..

The hard standing pitches are great, with a nice grassy area for sitting out, or you can pitch anywhere (weather permitting) on the large grassy area..
Facilities are well thought out, grey waste is either put into the hedge or around fruit trees.. I carry a long waste pipe and run it straight into the hedge ..

There is a long hose for filling up with fresh water , it can reach any part of the site.. this saves lugging water carries or moving the van to fill up

Black waste elsan dump point located beside the bins for rubbish and recycling.

6 Amp EHU at each pitch, longer cable needed on grassy area, I believe Jim has spare EHU cables..

Easy walking distance to Sutton on Sea and the promenade is great for cycling, it's about 6 miles long , so a nice 12 mile easy cycle..

We had a lovely time, we met a few Funsters we hadn't seen in years, and the hosts made us feel really welcome.. a very peaceful and relaxing site..

Well done, Jim and Sian .. your site is a credit to you both..

scotjimland. We all know what a little gem it is Jim, without advertising to the masses. ......................................

I have been puzzled by this, is it the same @scotjimland that used to post about sewing machines and bikes as I can't find any old posts.
Yes if it is the same one welcome back.
Yep Chaz, the very same.

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

I'm sorry when I was there earlier this year, there was a poor woman, I thought it might have been a slave, continually working, cleaning, gardening being chased around the field by a rough looking man on a sit-on mower with what looked like shotgun shouting if that ground sheet is not picked up you will get both barrels.
Seriously I do like jasmin camping who is that oddball walking around shouting at pigeons, poor harmless birds. Yes you know who I mean

Those poor pigeons looked underfed, so I threw a load of sliced bread up on to the roof of that caravan that was parked there so that they could fatten themselves up as it is the breeding season and I just love baby pigeons :whistle2:

Could have been parked opposite you if you were there yesterday, had 2 nights there and just arrived home as we are only 40 miles away. Saw Sian but Jim must have been hiding somewhere.

When we were there, Alison took a photo with her very old camera purchased from someone from Discworld, but didn't pay the Elf to do a very good likeness. Anyway this was lifted from "Calamity Camping" and shows the pigeon scaring action. You are famous, Karl........

Eight Years and 28,000 Miles.
Looks lovely now, when we were there, quite some time ago, the grass wasn't there...(probably waiting for turf/seeding).

What an improvement, we must return.

No it’s a pain. You have to steal them elsewhere now.😂😂
That’s a shame the free eggs really put the icing on the cake for such a lovely site. We had a great time there a few years ago biking to Mablethorpe to the north and Gibraltar Point to the south. Had the pleasure to meet Jim, Karl Gromett and Ian ianthebuilder.

No I believe,I may be mistaken, that Jim not being a very good shot, managed to shoot his chickens whilst trying to shoot a person putting up a awning with groundsheet. In truth bird flu in the area meant Jim having to cull his remaining chickens, that's what he told me, I prefer my story.

Since 2015.......
A big thanks to Jim & Sian at Jasmine camping…..
I’d fancied going to Jim’s site for a while now, and my mind was made up as it’s been 6 weeks since I’ve had a total hip replacement on my left side, and it’s nice and flat where the site is…

Mrs B and I arrived on Wednesday afternoon and Jim was outside working on some door for the house I think.
He showed me our pitch, and gave me a brief tour of where stuff was…. Elsan, bins etc.
He then informed me the best way to get to the beach and walking distance from the site to Sutton on sea… so I pulled into our spot, got set up, and as it was a sunny afternoon off we set walking. The Fat Seagull was the 1st port of call, so a few beers later, we found the sea wall and turned left towards Sutton on Sea. It’s about 1.5 miles walk along the path to Sutton, which we took at a steady pace, as although I’ve had my left hip done (which is fine), the right side hip is playing up out of sympathy 🙄
Again, as the Sun was out, we had a quick one at the Beach pub on the front, sat outside watching the sea and the odd RAF Typhoon flying over. A quick walk through the Town, and we ended up stopping at Waldo’s fish and chips, which were very good indeed. Then it was a walk back to Jasmine campsite, as it was England v Netherlands on the TV at 8pm… total distance walked 4miles
Second day, we thought we’d chance a bus ride to Mablethorpe, as it’s 10 min walk from the camp site to the bus stop. The bus runs every hour, and by the time we got to Mablethorpe, the weather was a bit miserable to say to least….a bit like the town itself, and probably like so many other towns and cities in this country, even my nearest town/city of Doncaster is the same… they need a lot of help imo..
So it was back on the bus, and back to the van.
Friday was a better day, but very windy. Same as Wednesday, a nice walk along the front into Sutton on sea, a few little shops and the a bite to eat in The Bacchus hotel… dog friendly. A walk back through the back streets to the campsite. 5.2 miles walked..
And as Jim mentioned in his little booklet he gave us arrival at the site… Sutton on sea is said to be “where your waiting for God”.. and judging by the amount of bungalow’s that are up for sale, he could be right.
So, a cracking camp site, the little town of Sutton is a little gem, and we will be back soon.
Thanks again to Jim and Sian for such a pleasant stay at your site and see you soon.👍

We returned yesterday after 3 nights at Jasmin. Lovely site in a perfect location. We turned left and right at the prom over 2 days. Had fish & chips at Waldos, very tasty. Walked to Sandilands nature reserve at Huttoft beach.

We originally booked for 2 nights, but as the forecast was good and the site so nice, we stayed for 3.

We'll definitely go back there, it's perfect. Thanks Jim & Sian, your site is a credit to you both.
