It's snowing

We live up a dead end on a hill and my neighbour has just come and parked on the drive he ran up the street and his brother in law drove up the street and straight onto our drive as he wouldnt have been able to turn round or park. He said the roads are horrible and some terrible driving

Me and mine not at work tomorrow, so if it doesn't clear the kids can enjoy it.
Daughter is at work on Sunday, so I'd like to see it gone by then.

Be nice if we could call it / get shut of it at will, eh?

You just described where we live:xThumb:
I'm just glad none of us have to go anywhere tomorrow. Anyone travelling this way it might be worth checking and having a plan B.

Still snowing here. Had to drive about 10 miles back from some friends house. The roads haven't been gritted so it made for interesting driving especially negotiating past abandon cars.

We didn't have any :xsad: but we've had a very wet & wild night, kept waking us up. It's still very windy out there now, wonder if the ferries are running.

Radio 2 have just said snow will be in the South east today

I'm piggin sick, we haven't got any snd I love the White stuff!

Rain nearly all night and a light covering of snow here at Sandringham, how dare it snow on Queenies estate,I expect she'll pass a law forbidding it!.

Our two hour car journey from Leicester back to home via the snowbound A50 became a four hour journey last night when a lorry got stuck on the M1 northbound slip road at J22. Not the easiest of Boxing Days by any means - we spent 4 hours at my sister's house and 6 hours in the car.

Spending half an hour sitting on the J22 roundabout with Radio 2 playing 'Let It Snow' instead of regular traffic updates was not in the least bit amusing. By the time we got home around 10pm the TomTom map east of the Pennines was glowing orange and red, so I think we got off lightly.

Huge differences in road treatment regimes - the main street of our village was already gritted yesterday morning, but the entire Leicestershire M sodding 1 was covered in snow by yesterday evening. A50 through Staffordshire was hard work too. Stoke on Trent's bit of A50/A500 and Cheshire M6 were largely clear, but Cheshire does sit on top of the nation's supply of rock salt.

Not so much as a single flake here in Norfolk !!

It not snowing yet in Buckinghamshire but like all councils, I'm sure ours aren't even ready despite being told it could settle on high ground.
:xdoh:

... and there it was, gone! Gorgeous sunshiny morning.

Dover, No snow, but lots of tree bits on the ground. I had to go out and turn off the van alarm as it kept going off by being shaken around.
It might be a day to go on the tunnel instead of the ferry.

I've put a couple on media, we've had no gritting or clearing :xeek:
@DavidG58 aw....is that when she's happiest? You've had more than us by the looks of it.

Edit: the other bit I forgot to add is that it looks like there's been a bit of ice accretion too. We went out to the sound of a chainsaw and one or two trees had come down where we walk:xsad:

:xeek: Took us 2 hrs. 50 mins last night to do a 15min. journey. Set off as soon as we saw it snowing. A 61 was a joke not a gritter in sight. People trying to attempt hills were not helped by 4x4 morons who insisted on overtaking everything in sight and creating more chaos.
:xThumb: Hope It's better on Monday

Think it's going to freeze - that'll be interesting getting out of our street as we're on a hill onto busy-ish road with a bit of a blind corner......you can't stop, just end up sliding out onto the road and hope for the best:xeek:

Still, if we're lucky we might get a gritter roundxroll:

yep we have had rain snow sleet ice and now its turned into a horrible slushy cold mess:xangry:
up side though is the depot has been really busy:xThumb:nice to be back:xcool:
