Hi Paul, sorry if you have already posted this information, but do you have an itinerary for the meet?

Ginny

He hasn't as yet, we're waiting with bated breath .... LOL

Come on Paul, I need to get the washing and ironing sorted out - walking boots and trekking poles, or backless frontless evening gowns?

ha he. or he ha guys....

Not much of an itinery for this one really.

It's sort of takes care of itself. I will hope to get something together tonight mind......As Ive agreed a nights overtime in A&E

gotta pay for the skiing some how.

so if I get something up, Ill put it all together. :thumb:

:Eeek:

I don't expect it to be planned per se - it was YOU that said there would be an itinerary - so I wondered what on earth you had in mind for us and whether we needed Fancy Dress!

Like, do we need to rush out somewhere and get Pete a onesie? (I'm certainly not having one; as one who wore jumpsuits (and BIG hair) when they were de rigueur - it's utterly ridiculous trying to go to the loo wearing one  )

Ok hot news hot news hot news hot news...

PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR FRIENDS SO WE GET TO ALL KNOW ABOUT IT.........

Thinking about what Sedge has said, it wouldn't be a HAGANAP production without something crazy going on....

So get your dressing down clothes out and the chrimbo decorations loaded up......

Saturday night it's the best dressed van----- put your decorations on your van.... and I will be sending a judge around to see the funster illuminations.....

Then Saturday night, It's over to the bar in your most ridiculous outfit you can find. from a onesie to a twosie get it on and join us for a drink..... worst dressed funster wins. so be careful what you wear, somone might win wearing their normal saturday night get up....

Here;s a copy of what you will receive on the day too.

WELCOME TO MOTORHOME FUN AT LADY HAYES –

Thank you for joining us here at Lady Hayes campsite for the Motorhome fun Pre Christmas shopping meet. As per usual, you are welcome to join in as much or as little as you wish.
The plans for this meet are really very simple-
Over the road, directly across the way, we have a bar/function room that we can use to get together. Whilst there we can have a good chat and a natter about A frames and their legality and whether or not Gassing occurs. However discussion’s about benefits and immigration are like Chinese lanterns—Banned  You may discuss rugby, but when doing so, please do so quietly.

Thursday is arrival day for most, some may like to trot over to the bar area, some may not and on Friday it is pretty much the same thing. However, some of our regular funster entertainment crew are here and Lopez the bar owner has agreed to allow them to perform, so come and join in if you like too.

Unfortunately you cannot take your own drink in to the bar area.

On Saturday, my intention is to be dragged in to Chester, for some Christmas shopping. There is of course some people driving over, some in taxi’s some even taking their Vans. There is not only Chester but the world renowned Cheshire Oaks development with the biggest M&S in the world. So Ladies, get your shopping shoes on and get shopping. You may equally want to remain here and look at the wonderful craft centres, taste the brew in the brewery or even the gorgeous cheesecake in the cheesecake shop…..(Not a good dieting weekend) . Or why not pop in to the candle shop and say hi to Bob Carolgies and Spit the dog?

SUNDAY
On Sunday morning we have Breakfast served at the Bistro, I believe the time will be 10 am for this but will confirm. Of course, there are about 60 of us, so, with that many, frying up 60 eggs may take a while, so please be understanding and please be patient. It’s imperative that you remind the staff that you are part of the rally in order to get your discount.
I know that there are a few first timers here so please don’t be shy, we won’t drag you out of your vans and insist you join in, that’s not the way it works. But come and say hello and introduce yourself and I promise you will be made more than welcome.

Can I respectfully remind people that we are here under the name of Motorhome fun. Please adhere to the campsite rules and be mindful that there are others here for peace and quiet.
Best dressed Christmas van…… Saturday come dark.
Worst dressed Funster – Saturday Night.
NIKKI AND I ARE PARKED ON PITCH 44 PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU LET YOURSELVES BE KNOWN TO US. SO WE KNOW WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE….. We need a good laugh….

Please don't worry. I never forget about money...

You pay on arrival in the office.

Hi Paul, can you confirm that there won't be a Jacobs table event? We need to know what food etc to bring.

Ginny

Yes Ginny.
I can confirm that there will not be a jacobs table at this event. This is because the bar does food, its a posh meet this one

we even got electric....

BTW WE ARE ON PITCH 40 NOT 44

Doesn't matter, he's crackers anyway.

Yes, we know em as 'American' too, but it does make you wonder really, when were Walker's crisps, sausage rolls and chunks of cheese & sliced black pudding American? Never heard the thing referred to as 'Jacob's' before but I have heard 'Faith' LOL

I'm so pleased! - that's the one thing I hate people springing on me! We don't normally fill the van up with stuff to cater for 20 people but can easily do so - as long as I know beforehand!

Jacobs table comes from a quaker or Mormon saying related to Jacob from the Bible....

An American buffet refers to the early settlers in the USA. Whereby they all chipped in to have a substantial meal.

When word got back to the UK that this was happening, the people in the UK referred to the gathering and bringing of food, "an American Supper"..

Thanks

Now whats your van going to look like? and what are you going to look like Saturday night.

Idea is you bring enough to feed your lot not the whole lot.....otherwise you'd be eating for months....

Yes, but when you'd planned to eat the left over chilli from last night and a jacket spud, maybe with a soupcon of grated cheddar for that night's gourmet delight, it does throw you a bit !

We are not great 'snackers' so sometimes don't even have a packet of crisps in the van.

My stock item tends to be a Spanish omelette on the basis I'll normally take a box of eggs and we don't eat a single one, and I usually have an onion and some spuds to hand !

Our van will look like a motorhome and we plan to look like us. If you think our dress looks daft, we'll say it took ages thinking out what items to wear .....
