If you read carefully, you will see that "HGV" is just one general type of vehicle given for illustrative purposes to show what constitutes a "Class 4" vehicle. Read beyond HGV and you will see "Mobile Homes" in the same category. If you were to take it to the county court I guess you could try arguing that yours is `a "motorhome" rather than a mobile home (the latter being something you might find on a static site, the former being something you drive around in) but I suspect the council's solicitor has the better case so you would be adding the cost of the claim, plus the council's costs, to your toll charge. Results all round!Frankly this is discriminatory! Motorhomes are not HGV and should not be penalised as such! The height definition is clearly inadequate and should be weight based at over 7.5 tonnes and limited to commercial vehicles! I'd take them to County Court and see what happens!
