It costs €62k, looks like a prison bus and is based on an old Merc'

Don't disagree but having experienced German motor industry quality in late 1960s early 70s nobody should take anything for granted. As a long time fan/owner of Jags and as a teenager knowing Jaguar founder William Lyons I was mortified by Jaguars sale to Tata but they are better now than ever.

Basically because Tata has commendably kept a firm "hands off" policy. Jaaags are superb cars - I've got an XF Sportbrake

Its a bit like the tale of the Royal Enfield, they were still making the pre sprinter van / min bus long after Mercedes stopped and you can see them in many asian countries, they must have got all the tooling cheap and still using it
They also made the very old style Mercedes trucks which are still widely seen in the mid east.

Well, I like it. It’s a bit different from your normal ice cream box.

That particular model doesn't appear to have a kitchen, just a fridge and a "Cafe"(???).

I actually like it

I like the old Merc van.. used to drive one at work.. solid beast and reliable..

not sure about the conversion, would need to see and drive it .. but wouldn't say no

Yes, but that is down to Jags being assembled in the UK using Ford car parts. Not cobbled together in India out of obsolete van parts. I dread to think what the emissions would be on that old Merc' motor

I'm guessing the owner needs to bring along two servants, at least. Or four if you want dancing girls (optional).

It's designed very much for it's market. I like some of the interior ideas but agree that the outside is, shall we say, unusual.

So £62K for a PVC and the shower and kitchen are optionals?

How many campsites are there in India with EHU(working)?

The 'dining tables' are at knee level - maybe OK for Indian style eating.

If they think it is for european market, then back to the drawing board chaps.

Geoff

I spent the last 5 years of my working life commuting between Derby and Philadelphia. When I saw the aircraft Business class styling, it made me shudder. I thought I was over it until I looked inside this wingless Boeing. :(

`kin ell looks like summat off ebay :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(AND £62000. Don`t think so

Good God. I thought I was ugly until the ugly tree picked up it's root's and ran off when I tried to climb it. Then I looked in the mirror and yup I have gotten worserer as I have aged.:(

they must have bought all the tooling and rights to the old Mercs just like they did with Royal Enfield, when I was in India last year there were loads of new ones about based on the old model chassis

Beat me to it, this has happened for donkeys years.

Looks like its bulletproof, why is it so heavy with a small engine ? and the back wheels do not look right.

Not sure about the extended wheel trims - or the rather mean awning.

......and the fact that the awning has been mounted so that it totally misses the door opening, which would render it pretty useless in climates similar where I use mine to keep the rain off.

Such as Cumbria, where I spend a lot of time

Looks amazing on the inside and also keeps points off your licence, what’s not to like

motorhome by day UPS by night :p

Overweight, underpowered, and if it sleeps 8, I’d hate to empty that cassette.
Probably, a statement of wealth in India.
