A quick heads-up.
At the Isle there is a popular overnight camping spot, known as “the field behind the Steam Packet” - or more formally- “Cairn Field”.
However from Monday 22 July 2024 for 4 weeks, the local Rowing Club are undertaking a building project (a new shed) in a part of the field which they either own or lease.
As such, other than construction traffic, no vehicles are allowed on the field while the works are in hand.
This is purely temporary for the 4 weeks, I am not aware of any moves to stop overnighting on the field once the works are completed.
