Isle of man TT

By the old museum. We've stayed here for the last three TT's.( You may of seen us TT blues last night)
We stay for the whole of race week. Have to come prepared, enough water to last as there is none available. It may seem boring to be in one place but the view of the race is great. We meet lots of people. The only small down side. Manx radio switch on their tannoy system at 5.30 on race days. We get used to it.

Just to go back to the original point of the thread. You can only book upto 6.5 online but can book longer vehicles on the phone, and you can also use the Liverpool services with longer vehicles. Early booking is essential for cheaper prices

I think there is a weight limit in Liverpool. The steam packet have a floating jetty there. We have always had to cross from heysham.

AFAIA Booking online is up to 2.5m high as well as 6.5m long

There is a torturous jetty bridge at Liverpool and a very tight turn onto the SeaCat. It also has a steep ramp where even my overhang can rub on the deck.

I was thinking of driving up there Thursday late afternoon in preparation for the senior on Friday. Does it clear out on non-race days and do you think I’d get a space?

Hi Jackie, I recognise your avatar.
I would say Thursday morning would be a better bet. It does get busy Thursday night.
The biggest issue is getting level. ( I have a spare ramp if you need)
There is only a transit van and us here at the moment.
I'm sure you're aware, the turn in is tight but we manage ok.
If you need any more info we're here all week.
As I've been writing this two cars have arrived.

I have all the sessions that are going to be on the TV scheduled to record. Wish I was at Peel enjoying breakfast before riding back to Braddan Church for the hospitality they provide.

Just thinking I might listen to the commentary today

All ready for tomorrow's Senior race. Still parked up on the bungalow. Fantastic weeks racing. Weather conditions have been perfect.
Moving down to Douglas tomorrow evening for firework display and then to castletown for post TT meeting.
It's a tough life.
