It’s RX04 XWG (from eBay listing) and it’s showing correct vehicle and has tax and mot.

Yes, the vehicle will absolutely exist! The owner just doesn’t realise it’s actually being marketed for sale!!! Here is a little exercise for those that wish to participate……have a look at how the genuine MH dealer; Timberland Motorhomes photograph their vans, always at the slip road of their dealership at the side of the dual carriageway…..now see if you can find some of their either current or previously advertised vans being advertised using their pictures/advert from the scammers. They just use other people’s (usually) older adverts. They don’t mess with the reg numbers etc.

Hear you go, that same seller is also using one of Timberlands old adverts!! 😂😂 that took all of 1 minute to find:

personally I’d buy one of his Merc cars an absolute steal!! 😂

And surprise surprise…….here is the same vehicle as above currently on Timberlands website for sale, slightly more (£17,000 more!) than the eBay ad!!! 😆😁

The scammers have hijacked an eBayers account and advertised loads of vehicles, they do it multiple times per day to different accounts

EBay close them down and they reappear using somebody else’s account. Not 100% sure how, but I would guess that they hack their password etc.

it's not a scam at all. It's mine. I'm just desperate to sell as I need the money to send to a Nigerian Prince who has promised me a few million quid for helping him out. So if you want it, just PM me and I will give you my bank details for you to send a deposit in to of 8k to hold it for you. You can then arrange to pick it up. I would love to let you view it but I am away on business at the moment, but don't worry, your money is safe with me.

I’d like to come and view on Sunday……No problem, I do have a couple of other serious enquires, but if you send over £100 holding deposit, I’ll give you first refusal and won’t let it go until you’ve viewed it. If for whatever reason you decide not to buy it, I’ll transfer the money back to you while you are here………

But what will they gain?
Who would send money without checking and viewing ?
People send holding deposits, then when they're about to go and pick it up seller tells them someone else has bought it and is coming soon, BUT......if you really want it send more money or even the full amount and I will kindly keep it for you.......

Clearly ebay don't want to stop fraud as it's making them money. Just look at all the fakes and nothing being done. I bought some guitar strings recently that turned out to be fakes. I got my money back and reported them to ebay's "fraud squad". Looking at older purchases I checked some toothbrush heads we had bought and, yes they were fakes. Again got money back even though this was an older purchase.

In neither case have I heard anything from ebay "fraud squad" and the sellers continue in business. I would say close the site down it's clearly as corrupt as it's seller base.

Yeah you are right and they all seem to have a postcode now, there doesn't seem to be many straight ones.
I never look at anything over 5 grand so havnt seen these.

Still not convinced this is a scam, ok he has a lot of motors for sale, at least 4 motorhomes but he has the same postcode on every one, surely a message can't hurt if you was interested.
Apart from him selling a gazillion other vehicles, if you click on contact seller it brings up a form requiring you to add all your details.
If you do the same for a genuine seller it just asks for your message and ebay tells you not to exchange any details.

All e-bay accounts should be 2 form authentication as it would help to stop hijacked accounts

I think you’ll find that is required for classified ads regardless of the seller.

Always sad to hear of people being scammed or otherwise ripped off whatever the means but in support of ebay, we've bought 3 campervans & 3 cars from ebay listings.
Didn't have an ounce of problem or regrets, didn't pay until saw the vehicle in the flesh (metal) and relevant paperwork checks same as you'd do if buying from the garage down the road. Will look there next time we need a new vehicle too.
Don't know why I never saw any of those scammy listings..

Despite what others say and I admit I was wrong about this one.
Sometimes if you want a bargain you have got to jump in before someone else does but it goes without saying no money changes hands till you have seen the vehicle.
I have bought loads of cars and tractors off eBay but no money has been let go till I have the keys in my hand and never had any problems.
If they start messing around with deposits or delivering it unseen, just have no more to do with it.
But there are plenty of bargains out there just take good care of your money till you have checked everything out.
