Is it legal for a passenger to walk about while motorhome is in motion?

Haven't looked at this thread for few days, flipping heck it's got dragged out.

Did remind me used to think nothing of driving around Brighton supping from a can of Watneys Party Four (couldn't hold a party 7 when driving) when I was a 20 year old.

Not sure which was the worst offence, driving while drinking or drinking Watneys. 🤣

Good for you and I agree with most of what you write, but you still haven't answered the question about your statement that 'MANY children were killed in Coach crashes in the 90's'?
A small number, may have been, but not MANY! 🤔
How many is many is too many? Statistically I accept that it doesn't look like a lot of deaths, but if my daughter had been one of the victims, I would count that as too many.

On 18 November 1993, a minibus carrying 14 pupils from Hagley Roman Catholic High School collided with a stationary maintenance vehicle on the M40 motorway near Warwick. Twelve children and their teacher, who was driving, died in the crash, making it one of the worst road accidents involving schoolchildren in the UK. Wikipedia+3BBC News+3BBC+3Wikipedia

In May 2010, a coach carrying schoolchildren was involved in a collision on the A66 near Keswick, Cumbria. Three people died, and four others were critically injured. The incident involved a school coach, a minibus, and a car. BBC News+6The Independent+6ITVX+6

On 29 September 2023, a school bus overturned on the M53 motorway in Wirral, resulting in the deaths of the driver and a 15-year-old student. The crash occurred when the driver collapsed at the wheel. Wikipedia+1ITVX+1

We all know that 1 death is one too many but, in mitigation for the Coach industry, the major accident in 93 was a School owned Mini-Bus and driven by a non PSV trained TEACHER who had been working all day and nothing to do with any Professional Coach Company.
The School was held responsible!

The second was cause by another vehicle and the Coach driver trying to avoid that vehicle.

The third by the driver having a heart attack at the wheel, how is that bad driving?

3 children (+ 2 drivers) in 32+years.

When one considers the MILLIONS of miles, in traffic, rain, sleet and snow, Coaches Drivers travel each year, that's REALLY impressive and NOT the "many, many" children killed you mentioned.

The is a US-sourced graph, but the relative risk pattern is pretty clear. Coaches are extremely safe. Maybe not as safe in countries where they periodically fall off mountain passes, but for most of us maybe 50 times safer than being in a car.

I am not sure if this .gov document helps at all. I still hold the view that if a police officer wanted to take action they would. It might or might not get thrown out by CPS or the court, but it's not a risk I wish to test!
Well we've established that some are scared to take risks

I accept that if I misgenderd a he/she/it on line the police may take action and I'd have several at my door

Having a quick wee on a straight stretch of the M5?

Probably not

Even if I had a co-driver, I don’t think I would risk going to the loo while it’s in motion.

Can you imagine the embarrassment if you were rear ended 😳
And you cant flush it.
BUSBY.

There you go, from the Horses mouth not the neurotic safety Nannies

I played rugby
I was a Scuba instructor regularly plus 50m wreck dives
I smoked
I drink loads
I drive too fast, and bought sports cars to drive really fast on the Autobahn
I eat Peanuts
I light bonfires with Petrol
I used to climb tree's
I jump off walls
I like going in ruined buildings
I like going to area's abroad I'm told to "steer well clear of"
I tend not to turn the electric off when changing an appliance
I've worked with power tools all my life
I go up ladders
I stand on the very top of step ladders

I mention this as at 64 years old I have listened all my life to people telling me that "I shouldn't" when they normally mean they would be scared to do it themselves
No..they are sensible..you have been lucky.BUSBY.
