I have completely emptied the motorhome and due to weight of our new e bikes am being very careful what goes back, my question is regarding the fire extinguisher it weighs 1 kilo and have carried it and its predecessor all over uk and Europe this past 11 years and am considering leaving it behind to save weight BUT is it essential kit ? do some countries and insurers require you to carry one? regarding its intended use my gut feeling these day would be just get out and away, what do you guys think.

Carry 1L less of water, beer/wine or any other drink and you’ll be able to take your FE, however if you’re really that tight on weight I’d look at other ways of managing it.

First thing I did when I bought current van was fit an extinguisher. Couldn't believer the original owner had been swanning around for a couple of years without one.
