Rally Chat Is anyone planning to go to motorhome shows this year like peterborough or malvern?

hi there! Just checking on a general feel of what people think about the outdoor shows, is anyone going? any feedback is great im trying to decide yes or no
 
Ditto. Far too soon to rub shoulders with strangers.
 
Nope. Besides the fear of contamination, I don't think that the shows will be up to much - little or no entertainment in the evenings for example.

It will be the first time that I have missed the Malvern show in 15 years :(
 
Thank you this is really helpful, my dads a trader and he said he was going to all of them including 2 only next month and im trying to show him it might not be the best idea
 
We had originally moved our booking for Peterborough at end the of July but today decided to cancel it, for much the same reasons as everyone above.

I don't think he will be that busy, even if he is only selling sanitizer and masks. o_O

No to shows far to early. Just small meets for us.

No big shows this year and possibly not till late next year.

Does he trade online??
 
I usually trade from shows. As we are a small family business it is possible to trade from shows. Bigger traders who have staff would find it virtually impossible to attend if they are to respect social distancing. How do they get staff there? Where will they stay? How do you ensure van interiors are kept virus safe?
Ive spoken to a couple of big motorhome retailers and they say its impractical for them to attend.
 
Hi ... Outdoor shows .... Going outdoors defiantly, shows, probable not.
Keeping fingers, and everything else crossed, I,m going across Europe in Sept.
I, have mask,s, I have antibody,s, so all packed ready to go.

Sounds like no one there apart from a few. Social distancing shouldn’t be a problem then, count me in.

(if they ever are any that is)

I can't see any going ahead.

1. Less people, so>traders will be reluctant, so>less traders, so>less people will go, so less traders attend.

2. SD means Entertainment severely curtailed, so> less people, so> poorer entertainment, so> (go back to 1)

3 Shows finished as we know them for at least a year.

Is Chester still on. It says cancelled on rallies page but the Chester site is still open for bookings.
