We had 2 weeks over there in June. Arrived in Belfast and straight into the Titanic. Then on the hunt for GOT sites, Strangford was recommended, unfortunately Monday and Tuesday it appears to be closed. Castle Ward was good but again the main house closed. Made our way down the east coast, speak to the guys on the fishing boats, some fantastic bargains to be had. Then to Newcastle for a few days, before heading into the south and Callingford. Lovely and lively, the marina offers motor home stop overs. We had a wedding to attend and then headed over towards Sligo, find the waterfall. Then up the coast some lovely places, last couple of days was Port Rush, giants causeway, a visit to the local distillery, another waterfall, overnight just north of Belfast and back on the ferry. Will be going back, there is so much more to see. There doesn't seem to be a thread for Ireland in continental touring.
We have had a couple of weeks over there and thoroughly enjoyed it. The drama of the coast, the hills, the amount of waterways is staggering and the people of course, so welcoming. So many free places to stop over, we found it a delight.
If you have run out of schengen days, consider a visit to Ireland.
