inverter

thats the 1 i managed to win

peter i have been getting goods on ebay from china for ages all with no problem and 800 continuous will be [plenty for what i need

The inverter will probably be fine. Mine is Chinese and has been working fine for years, it was so cheap I have a spare one in case it does fail.

It's very bad that they provide a cigar lighter lead with a 1.5kW inverter. Most sockets of that type will only supply 10A maximum, while the inverter could draw 150A:whatthe:

Mine is wired to sockets only, as the fridge will flatten batteries as it's on 24/7, and of course running the charger is a somewhat futile exercise.

Almost all inverters on the market are made in China, including the one I bought from Germany. And I too have bought stuff from China (or at least HK) on Ebay. It is the zero feedback that worries me.

And, on looking a bit more at what he is offering in the photo I am even more concerned. As reallyretired has pointed out the cigar lighter lead is useless for the rated supply. And the lead with the crocodile clips seems much too thin as well. My 2000W (4000W peak) inverter came with a quadrupal wired lead, and each of the wires was at least twice as thick as the one shown in the photo I estimate.

Anyway I hope I am wrong and it arrives and works well. Keep us posted one way or another.

peter i wont be using the leads thats advertrised i already have leads for it i to saw the leads and knew they would be suspect but as far as zero feedback again there is no problem if all goes tits up ebay will refund me

my batteries have arrived my battery cables are here i am about to buy the relay (thanks techno)do i also need a rcd was looking at that 1 i have a fused cablke running to my battery at the moment so do i need to also fuse the 2nd battery i still got bids in for a solar panle at 90amps hope that will be strong enough :)

Your solar panel may be 90watts, it won't be 90amps. In good sun you will get up to 5amps from it.
That RCD should work.

ok thx yes i meant 90w

now got the panel had a result new in the box 100w solar bought by a guy who bought the wrong 1 £50 including a control and cable now next question what size cable is best for the run from the control panel to the batteries i would assume the run from the batteries to the relay will be around 1.5 flex ?
