I have bought a 1500W/3000W peak Pure Sine Wave Inverter from Temu. It seems incredibly cheap at £68 but thought it worth a try.
Firstly, is there any way of double checking that it is actually Pure Sine Wave and not Modified Sine Wave? It does have a label on it stating Pure Sine Wave but, it is just a label.
Secondly, I intend to fit it 1m away from the Leisure Batteries using heavy duty Jump Lead style cable, fused at 50amp on the Live side. I think that is fine.
Thirdly, as the Mains input socket on the outside of the motorhome is less than 1m away is it OK to plug it into that so the whole motorhome 240v is live when the Inverter is switched on? It would make it much easier than running cables to microwave, etc. The microwave is 700W.
I have the Sargent Unit installed and obviously would turn off the battery charging switch on it.
I don't want to risk 'frying' the Sargent unit.

To check it's a pure sinewave you need to look at the output with an oscillerscope you need to check it on load as well as off load.

With it being that cheap I wouldn't connect it to anything with electronics in it, cheap inverters are known for blowing up electronic equipment.
It will be OK use on a kettle don't think I would risk it with anything else.
I agree - the only way to know it is completely pure sine wave.
There is another kludge of a test:
Try several devices at home. Make sure none of them have a hum.
If you then try the same devices running off the inverter and there is a hum (and sometimes increased heating) then it ain't pure sine wave.

Rewind the clock!! Tested this morning.
Very unusual for Temu to tell lies about their products however, this item is absolutely Not Fit For Purpose. :groan:
Firstly, one of the sockets never worked at all.
Secondly the fluorescent light I plugged into it was flickering, which indicates very poor pure sine wave.
Thirdly, and most importantly, it would not run either a 600W hairdryer or a 700W microwave, which was my reason for buying. It would start up then cut out after two seconds.
It is being returned! Temu credited full amount in seconds, and even accepted my review as above.
Oh well, looks like you get what you pay for. Now looking around for something more reliable and not too expensive. Pensioners rate.

You won't go wrong with a Victron RogerIvy will give you a good price.

Bad luck - still a 1500w inverter to run a 700w microwave on full power might be asking too much - I thought they draw about double their output......?

Depends on the microwave, the inverter ones only draw a out 30% more on start up but they tend to be the larger more expensive ones.

Hi Lenny, do the victron inverters have a power save in that they switch off when there is no demand, our Buttner does and that is one of the features that I really like, I can plug something like laptop of Dyson vac in to charge and then go out and it will have switched off when i get back(y)

Yes they have two modes for power saving:
AES (Automatic Economy Switch)
If this setting is turned ‘on’, the power consumption in no-load operation and with low loads is decreased by approx. 20%, by
slightly 'narrowing' the sinusoidal voltage. Applicable in stand-alone configuration only.
Search Mode
Instead of the AES mode, the search mode can also be chosen. If search mode is ‘on’, the power consumption in no-load
operation is decreased by approx. 70%. In this mode the MultiPlus-II, when operating in inverter mode, is switched off in case
of no load or very low load, and switches on every two seconds for a short period. If the output current exceeds a set level, the
inverter will continue to operate. If not, the inverter will shut down again.
The Search Mode ‘shut down’ and ‘remain on’ load levels can be set with VEConfigure.
The standard settings are:
Shut down: 40 Watt (linear load)
Turn on: 100 Watt (linear load)

Maximum efficiency 93 %
Zero-load power 13 W
Zero-load power in AES mode 9 W
Zero-load power in Search mode 3 W

For the 12/3000/120/32 model.

I have had some of the best underwear,t shirts and socks that I have had from anywhere at about a quarter of the price but I have also bought stuff like kitchen ware and small tools just to make the price up for free delivery and they were totally useless, but everything I have bought has been less than a fiver , anything else and especially electrical stuff, no way.
"I have had some of the best underwear" any pictures ? 😀

I have two Platinum 110amp, both less than six months old.
I assume that they are lead acids?
If so they are rated at a constant maximum discharge of 22AH each so 44Ah for the 2.
Your microwave will probably draw around 90-100AH, certainly on startup, so over double what your batteries are rated for.
The problem might be voltage drop from the batteries and not an inverter problem.
Either way drawing that amount from the batteries regularly will shorten their lives.
