I have bought a 1500W/3000W peak Pure Sine Wave Inverter from Temu. It seems incredibly cheap at £68 but thought it worth a try.
Firstly, is there any way of double checking that it is actually Pure Sine Wave and not Modified Sine Wave? It does have a label on it stating Pure Sine Wave but, it is just a label.
Secondly, I intend to fit it 1m away from the Leisure Batteries using heavy duty Jump Lead style cable, fused at 50amp on the Live side. I think that is fine.
Thirdly, as the Mains input socket on the outside of the motorhome is less than 1m away is it OK to plug it into that so the whole motorhome 240v is live when the Inverter is switched on? It would make it much easier than running cables to microwave, etc. The microwave is 700W.
I have the Sargent Unit installed and obviously would turn off the battery charging switch on it.
I don't want to risk 'frying' the Sargent unit.

I don't know about checking the sine wave but yes £68 is cheap "too cheap" in my book, some jump leads are rigid copper coated aluminium so be careful to use mutli strand copper cable and that the fuse is at least capable of protecting the cable, 50A will only give you 500 watts from the inverter.

When you’re using the inverter make sure the battery charger is switched off and also the 230V for the heating/hot water and probably the 230V for the fridge are also off.

I would be very sceptical that it's Pure sine and also that it does the wattage stated..
A bit like MPPT solar controlers and the words MPPT they say is the model number
Hope to be proved wrong but as a precaution I would be testing it stand alone before connecting the whole van through it. (y)

Yes, that is why I want to make sure before I connect. Having said that, I have had some phenomenal deals from Temu with stupid prices for quality goods.

I tend to buy small cheap items off Temu and the odd clothes, never been brave enough for anything electrical or more that the £15 minimum.
Just seen they have Thetford cassette seals for a few quid so thats interesting.

Good luck with the Inverter, post how you get on with it.. (y)

To check it's a pure sinewave you need to look at the output with an oscillerscope you need to check it on load as well as off load.

With it being that cheap I wouldn't connect it to anything with electronics in it, cheap inverters are known for blowing up electronic equipment.
It will be OK use on a kettle don't think I would risk it with anything else.

I am totally dedicated to temu , as you say for cheap clothes and stuff but having received some things that are laughable in how they differ from the description, I would never trust anything from them that is capable of killing you :(

I think its going to depend on the make and model because this sounds like a Temu special which has the possibility of being the same model as an Amazon £150 inverter only a lot cheaper
If it cant be confirmed as the same type other reputable retailers sell it is quite a gamble (imv)

I have had some of the best underwear,t shirts and socks that I have had from anywhere at about a quarter of the price but I have also bought stuff like kitchen ware and small tools just to make the price up for free delivery and they were totally useless, but everything I have bought has been less than a fiver , anything else and especially electrical stuff, no way.

Roughly you will use 26 amps @ 12 volt d.c. to produce 1 amp @ 240 a.c. Allowing for inverter inefficiencies and voltage drop. I used to use welding cable as it is much more flexible, make sure all connections are tight and check again after a few uses.

Yes, I saw the Thetford seals but, there are two sizes so make sure you get the right one. If I remember rightly they are about £20 from Caravan Spares shops. I bought a 3000W instant hot water tap, direct cold feed for £32. Had it for almost a year now and works perfect.

Oh yes, loads of stuff. Most, though not all is the same as you pay 3 or 4 times the price for here in the shops. After all, it all comes from China!

I bought those very same strimmer blades for my Aldi Strimmer. They are better than the originals.

Must admit I'm also a bit wary of buying stuff that is going to contact food with all these plastic scares .
One thing we do buy a fair bit of is glue and body filler stuff we find it's far better than stuff we can buy here but put it down to it being made from something that is banned here.
