Hi all. About to change our MH and looking for layout best suited to our new (young) dog. Best space when stationary would be a space sectioned off in the garage but need easy access from inside. Anyone done this or know of MH models that are good for this? Thanks.

Rollerteam 690 has a large hatch into the garage. I can fit a double trans k9 dog box in the garage no problem.
Motorhome is for sale in the classifieds if you are interested. 😉
Seen it on an LMC it was a cut away access hatch in the area where the stairs were to access the garage from inside

I've seen quite a few with large garage and high rear bed have a hatch. ... Couldn't name models though

Adria Coral, door through to Garage, approx 12" * 8", could be enlarged?

Our Hymer has a French bed which hinges up, with gas struts, giving full access to our (half) garage.

We hired one of these years ago. Dogs weren’t allowed, so being a super shedder Springer Spaniel, Ginny travelled in the garage. She was perfectly happy as long as she could stick her head through the hatch and see us.

It worked a treat. We only had to hoover the garage out to hide all traces of her being there!

My Adria Vision I707 SG has a good size hatch into the garage, I’m not the most agile now but I have no problem using it, very handy when raining if you need something from there,

Just need to train the dog to hop over the vertical section before you shut him in when you lower the bed.🤔

We previously had a Rapido with longitudinal single beds over a garage and asked the dealer (Wokingham) to fit a hatch - they did a great job so the dog slept in the garage and bonus when it was wet she went straight into the garage then joined us through the hatch when she’d dried off.

Our CI Mizar 2008 had a very useful hatch to the garage.

Used to have a door into the garage on our Rimor Europeo 87 (now called Superbrig 87 plus), but we fitted the electric rising transverse bed, and lost the door.

My 2013 Auto-Trail Mohawk has access to the garage via a door under the bed. I blocked the access by screwing a small bookcase up against it so I have a shoe cupboard instead.

Globecar PVC has partition panel under bed. It would be easy to remove or modify.

Hi there. Our Laika has access to the garage. I have fitted a light system with a switch at each door and one at the centre so you can turn the lights on and off in each place. The access from inside the van is very handy to dump laundry at the end of the day!

I was visiting the van today and took some better photos.

There is a, 12v Hab battery supply, lamp in the garage by the door that can be activated from either side.

The door can be used from either side.

A small human or most dogs would fit through.

Van side the door is at foot level, in the garage there would be a need for a ramp construction for a hound.

There is one regular and another 'capped' warm air heating outlet.

In no particular order;

Garage side, heater outlet on the right.
