Insurance Corruption In Morocco

Just pay up and be thankful they haven’t contacted your insurance company.
Most insurance companies will not allow renewal or purchase of insurance from abroad , strange but technically you have to be in the uk to purchase for some reason
You can’t beat a bit of corruption from the local constabulary, it was actually quite fun paying off the police in a certain Eastern European country and quite an eye opener watching the mafia arrive in a night club with uzis openly on display under leather jackets , I was a bit miffed that they had nuts and chocolates put on their table

Presumably to ensure that english contract law applies to the transaction? Seems an unnecessary restriction to my mind! I signed up for my insurance by email and mobile phone. So how they would know where I am when signing up goodness only knows! They probably don't really care. They just want english law to apply which is fair enough!

The requirement is probably because each country rrequires the company to hold a licence issued there to sell within that country, and most companies do not want the expense of obtaining one for the few extra customers they would gain. Big international banks do it for the need to have worldwide operations, but it is worthwhile for them.

Where the contract is signed does not prevent the contract being written under English Law, which can be written into the contract as all UK insurance is. I have just made such a contract under English Law and both parties signed it in Poland. Ship and aircraft owners do it all the time.
