Recommend the Kampa range myself, we have the 330 XL Air Pro Driveaway Version and are going to buy the same without the Driveaway ext as we cannot use drive away on CCC sites as pitches to small, then were covered on both club sites.
You need to make sure you buy the correct size S. L. XL. XXL some sellers on the usual auction sites are selling because of the wrong sizes purchased so you might be lucky and grab a bargain
Regards Darren
I would visit a local dealer have a good look and that way you can see them setup.
I’m sure others will comment soon but I have a blow up Vango easy to setup and pitch.
Best wishes.
Hi, Ann & MikeDarren - we bought the same on Monday. We chose this for the stronger fabric. It is very heavy. It took some while to put up but give it it’s due-it weathered the awful Gale we had here on holiday in Norfolk last night. Not happy with the way the drive away bit fits our van though...CARTHAGO chic A class. Maybe the ‘Royal We’ are not doing something right?!! Any suggestions would be gratefully receivedAnd we didn’t know we couldn’t use the drive away in a CL site....that was the whole point of ya buying one as we usually wild camp and move on after a couple of days.
You can buy the limpet hole cutter that way you can fix limpets away from decals and also where you get more wind coming inAny suggestions for a normal awning, that doesn’t have limpet holes?
Have you thought about just buying a tent (stand-alone tent) rather than an awning or drive away awning?Any suggestions for a normal awning, that doesn’t have limpet holes?
I Must be lucky as not had any issues, or maybe it’s because I put them on with superglueDont bother with the kampa limpets. Lost count of those that have simply broken or pull off side of van. Keep the black spaces though and go on Amazon there is something very similar with a grey knurled thumbscrew and clear suction cup. Holds much stronger and only about £12 for 20.
When I had my small home conversion PVC, I bought the cheapest pop up toilet/shower tent (you know the ones that refuse to go back in the bag once you’ve let them out). Then if ever i never put the awning up, I’d throw the pop up out and stow my awning, toilet and everything else in it that would normally go in the awning when it was up, in it. Job doneWe looked at these but ours is a self converted camper, and we decided that an air beam thing is a big lump to store, especially if you stop for one night somewhere and don't want to put it out. Whereas an old fashioned pole and fabric type can be split and stowed in two different places.
I’m like you can never get them to stay on and broken more than can count do you have a link or name for the alternative you suggested?Dont bother with the kampa limpets.
