hi there im matt

for the past 7 years I have lived and worked in and from my motorhome I loved every moment of it it really turned my life around for the better before then 8 lived in houses very lonely buildings made me such a lonely person that I started getting in with the wrong crowd just for friendship
this never worked out so I sold everything I owned got rid of the house and brought me a 4birth autotrail I loved my van from day one I cooked meals for family friends I went on trips all over the UK some parts of Europe
I came back to England and managed to park up in a town in Manchester well I don't know Manchester very well and I parked in an area that was full of travelers (I have nothing against anyone) but this group of travelers went nice very jealous I kept myself to myself as I always have done I wasn't bothering anyone but apparently I was on there turf they followed me threatened me
they even jumped me (beat me up) hospitalised me while in there I had to leave my van wich I had no choice to do
I finally got patched up got back to the area my van was in they burnt it to ashes
I'm devastated as that was my home
I'm literally that devastated I have no emotion

I'm reaching out to the motorhoming community to see if you have or know anyone who has a motorhome they could donate or even come to an arrangement to rent to buy it im a plasterer by trade I can offer my services

thank you for taking the time to read this sorry my punctuation and grammar isn't good

if you would like to get intouch my email is deleted

also im sorry for some of the spelling i have big thumbs and hit the wrong keys

Have you contacted the police and then your insurance company maybe in the short term until sorted find a live in handyman job hospitality are screaming out. Pay not brilliant but it will give you a roof and the plastering could be done on days off
Good luck with getting back on your feet

Something smells a bit fishy to me and it aint the cullen skink from last night.
Thats what I thought when I first read it, either a very sad situation, if he is a Nigerian Prince....

He's not been back to check.

Be aware this person joined yesterday, first post a sob story and external email address, if its not a scam or gofundme thing I'll be very suprised

In addition, the email address is noted for previous forum spam elsewhere

I had not seen that before I posted. But I will leave my reply on

this is really not a scam its very real I am in need it may be a sob story but it is sad and I do agree with you all to be cautious

I've definatly not been flagged as spam lol thats new to me or id have been notified

my insurance are saying it can't be proven as there were no witnesses the police didn't want to know as its an ongoing problem in the area

I am definatly not a Nigerian Prince

and I didn't know the area in question so I didn't know the people or what it was about plus travelers live in houses nowerdays

Before I judge !

Im a From and live in Manchester. I know the area extremely well.

If you want to send me more info by private message ?

I didn't come back to check as I don't have constant access to the Internet

ita all well and good jumping on the band wagon trolling someone genuinely in need of help its not like I was asking for anything for free

if you read my thread properly I did ask if anyone had one to donate or one to rent of them and eventually buy I also offerd my skills as a plasterer I do also do other jobs to

I never once asked someone to give me somthing for free

I didn't jump on any bandwagon, just commented you hadn't been back, what's the harm in that?
Now you have returned, let's have more details.

You have enough evidence…..a burnt out chassis an insurance companies assessor will be coming long to take a look, determine if it was arson or an electrical fault etc.

I’m sure you would have some pictures for the insurance company which you could share here, otherwise you can forgive people for thinking it’s a scam !

Edited to say where is the go fund me link

Hi Matt,
Sorry to hear of your predicament if genuine
I don't understand the response from your insurance company. Have they declined your claim, if so on what basis ?
And the police ? They should give you a crime number as a start.
Coming onto a forum and asking for a donated motorhome is a big request coming from a stranger.
Your skills as a plasterer should give you a good income which could provide the means to find a replacement, even if it means finding temporary accommodation in the short term.
Personally I'd be chasing up the insurance company and finding out why they declined your claim.
Good luck getting it sorted out.

Well how are you living now, are you plastering, or DIY, there was another guy on here a few years ago who was a builder and he got quite a few jobs off members on here, which would be a good start.
Where are you planning on putting your new van as surely you can't go back?
Loads of things before anyone is going to loan a van,I'm afraid.

there is no gofundme link as im not asking for money

there isn't enough evidence to say what caused it

and I did have pictures of what happened I sent them in to the insurance I don't have them now as I had to sell my phone

and I totally forgive people for thinking its a scam but a scammer would ask for money a scammer wouldn't offer a physical service like plastering I don't think anyway

I thought the motorhoming community may be able to help

Surely, if the m/h was insured for full-timing (a very costly policy) there'd still be some evidence in the remains even if burned to ashes?
Didn't the fire service attend?
Regardless of the cause of the loss (other than wilful destruction by the policyholder) the insurance company has a legal obligation to compensate you provided that it was being used within the terms of the policy.

What are you using to post on this forum.

The motorhome community are some of the most caring and thoughtful people I have ever known. They have bent over backwards to help others and will always do so again. Just be a little patient. This community are used to scammers and as soon as they realise you are not then things will get easier for you on here.

im just relaying whats been said to me there is no evidence of how it was caused how it happend who did it where they came from

I would suggest that as long as there is no evidence that you did it then they are obliged to pay out whoever did it or whatever caused it. Maybe you are too easy to fob off.
Why not try Citizens Advice as a starter?
