Carpets full stop. If you really stop in gleaming meadows your van will soon be a mess even if you religiously remove your crocs every time. Good reason for buying a base model and not being 'upsold'.

If the folks at Autotrail actually used their pvc they wouldn't have fitted thousands of shower doors the wrong way that leave you exposed as you exit....all adds to the excitement I guess.

My favourite unofficial spot. One kilometer long beach with a few possible holes for a van/mh. Used to go there very often but in two years it got so well known that more and more people came and then happened what usually happens. Nobody cared about anything, parked where ever they could fit their stuff and quite quickly the road to the beach was blocked.

Nothing wrong with that - Boy Scouts and Military on exercise do it all the time.

We carry a folding spade, with serrated edge, for cutting the turf. Bought it in Callander so obviously the method is accepted in Scotland.

Only had to use it 2-3 times in 10 years.
