Ideas please for my Motorhome garage.

no solar panels on the roof ... YET???

would keep your baby topped up nicely ....

What a perfect fit Paul. From the front it doesn't look that big, that is; until you open the door and see a bloody big Concorde sitting inside

You must be chuffed with it.

The builders have dug so much out as the drive is sloping as you can see.

Size planners have agreed to is 8.7 metres long, 3.6 metres wide, door height 3.3 metres, door width 2.9 metres, total height 4.1 metres.

Now as you can see they have really dug into the sides and especially rear, the builder reckons the plastic damp proof will stop any damp coming through the walls, which are 11 inch thick(Concrete block laid sideways on for solidness)

There is plenty of room at the back wall to get access and wonder if that tanking solution or tanking membrane would also help, before he backfills it

They have got some of the blocks down and think the wall would be better stepped now part way down I think that’s a good idea as part of the timber garage would be below ground otherwise.

He says he is putting a field drain in as well around the back and side.

What about a drain down the centre of the floor obviously need to know before the concrete floor gets done.

Any other ideas anyone?

See that you have drains for the grey and black material. Do not forget that the toilet residue must be connected to the drains. This will facilitate your cleaning facilities.

Can’t help with the drains, but I was thinking the trees on the right, will they interfere with the garage once it’s up..? Trimming them would be a problem too...
They look like Leylandii and looking at the position of the founds and proposed field drain they won’t be around for much longer!! Me thinks😊😊

Almost completed just a few finishing touches to complete.

Wife commissioned a sign to reflect what the house is called which I’ve just put up yesterday made in Oak to reflect the bird life we get, Black Grouse and Lapwings. Huge overhang at the front to protect it

Ive well over 2 metres at the front where I have made a workshop, I’ve always want a vice, not sure what to do with it now though😄.

Loads of room to open the habitation door and I’ve taken a few through the skylight too.

Sorry some photographs have appeared more than once, internet rubbish up here on the moors.

Electrics all done today, dedicated 16amp hook up point, lighting with light above my workshop area in addition to one central light.

Separate circuits they used for socket and MH socket with trip switches in the box.

Great job, really pleased with it.

Very neat job, been great to watch it develop. Well done!!!
Thank you, total cost now that’s it’s finished under 15k so really pleased it’s 22mm timber so I went with the more expensive build the standard was 15mm.

The digging out and base was £5000 which was a great price from the builder especially with the price of concrete these days, for the foundations and floor.

Plenty of room to open habitation door and locker doors, 9 metres by 3.6 metres.

Exterior done with Linseed oil paint, x4 double glazed windows.

I tried a bit of the floor with a sealing idea, linseed oil and turpentine as it’s dirt cheap. It’s a mess as you can see so I will get some proper concrete sealer for the rest.

looks great i dream of owning a garage like that out of interest what do you need the 16 amp socket for?

I just asked for a Motorhome socket and that’s what they fitted so your right probably not required.

There are no drains at all apart from the exterior ones.

What is the useable height ?

Don't mess about with cheap floor sealing solutions Paul, get a 2 part paint and apply 2 coats. After properly preparing the surface both in curing time of the base concrete as well as dressing off the surface to create a firm base for the paint to adhere to, removing any contaminates that have now been inadvertently applied. Get some old spiked running shoes to walk about during the painting process, the paint where the spike tips land naturally fills over as you walk, to complete the job easily and not miss any bits. That will set off a really smart interior.

There are very few people who have a posh hutch for their van - you lucky chappy Paul

I'm with Michael when it comes to the floor - the painted-look will just finish it off.

.....a fine job indeed sir.

You need a wakie talkie with the Mrs but put the batteries in the wrong way around....

Cheers James
