If you are near the ciast try a yacht chandlers.

Go to city electrical. There's one in every town...nearly
just checked and their cable is a damn sight more expensive than cable from amazon (oxford welding supplies with free delivery!)

What about a local welders supply shop. Google?
although the internet is cheap you can't feel or look closely at the quality.

MisterB. Any good Dave?

Do you need to wire neg to neg terminal rather than use neg to chassis for shorter run?

Oxford welding supplies every time, quality is v good in line with the price.
oxford welding supplies is the company on amazon that i am looking to buy from!

to be honest i didnt expect the price per metre to be so high. i have been trying to see if i can route the cables in such a way as to reduce the length (which is always a good thing) but i just can't do it simply enough to negate the amount of work entailed. its simpler to just remove a few trims (which have been off several times) rather than spend any longer than i need to on installation.

at least im not paying anyone else for labour charges, so i will just have to consult the 'finance officer' ... to get permission for the expenditure ..

This twin red & black is good, and may be easier to route and fix. Also they sell the 'tinned' version, intended for marine and corrosive environments, the 'tin' helps stop corrosion if it get s wet and/or salty. probably not necessary for a motorhome though.

Now you know why big trucks with long cable runs use 24V electrics, with cables half the cross-sectional area.

Go into any of the electrical supplies stores and ask for the real price. There’s always a discount price they can’t put in a book.

That may be, but I could end up driving round for ages just trying to compare prices. I will stick to Oxford welding supplies prob, I will ring a local welding supplies outlet and also BOC in Ipswich to see what their prices are like. I've used BOC in Ipswich previously and they were very keen prices but only had black cable, so I added red tape every few inches just to ensure no confusion could arise later down the ownership line !!

So what’s wrong with getting it from Amazon as you already know you can, also why not search the Internet!

BOC ipswich only have 35mm and its in stock ..... but at £6 per metre it seems to be a very good price ..... ??

but is it overkill, albeit for 60A DC to DC (Renogy)?

Not if he needs it to go through the shunt.

that would make it cheaper of course, but need to check if thats a viable option, thanks

what shunt? do i need one for a Renogy 60A Dc to DC - it doesnt mention it in the instructions, or is it simply best practice (which isnt an issue !!)

I have bought a Renogy monitor aswell which simply plugs into the DC to DC and gives me the readings i should need?

The only problem with 35mm2 is the price and the weight. If the price is right, and the cable connections can be made OK, then it's worth a try. Just make sure it's genuine copper, not CCA (copper clad aluminium)

My comment was suggesting a reason why you wouldn’t do as tkk suggested.

If you don’t already have a shunt then it’s not an issue. It is not necessary to fit one.

If you have the means to read current/Ah then you will have a shunt. If you do have a shunt it’s important that the current from all charge sources (and all loads) go through the shunt. If they don't then your consumption readings and State of Charge indications will be incorrect.
