Rick replied today. Mick has been away but was phoning E&P today about it. Probably hear tomorrow.
Non are stainless steel so it's odd that only two parts are affected.

A nice call from Mick. Informative but out of warranty which has only ever been 2 yrs.
As this is specific to just the inner rears it looks like poor quality chroming so I've now appealed to the main agent in Blackburn with pictures for their assistance and advice.
If there is no happy outcome I'm reliably informed they will last for many years if I'm carefull with emery cloth. I can live with that.
