Been there done that..and actually think sometimes was my best ever. What you need is my 30 year old little caravan parked next to you….that would really make you value your rapido lol
So what can thay do in that that you can't it's a camper just a bit bigger.
Is that Garmin or Tomtom? I didn't realise they needed to be level.Ha ha..not me..I'll sleep anywhere..but sometimes my navigator
I've just had a look, what a crap advert, doesnt say what chassis or engine or weight - pneumatic shock absorber.??? looks cheap though TGL chassis only 18000 miles. There’s a cheeky little N&B Clou appeared on autotrader jongood
That’s exactly what I thoughtI've just had a look, what a crap advert, doesnt say what chassis or engine or weight - pneumatic shock absorber.??? looks cheap though TGL chassis only 18000 miles.
There's quite often a bit of top trumps going on, but there are also plenty who buy something that meets their requirements but happens to be big. it also works the other way with VW snobbery, I know which is most often disappointedTombola How you feel , You think how they feel after spending all that and a 12mtr Quad slide US RV parks next to them
Would not have anything elseAlthough I do aspire to own a RWD
Yeah I’ve just been to view one!Would not have anything else
Never had a problem parking on sites, some a bit small but can still get in. A quick phone call to confirm that's all. UK or EU. The bus now lives in France as a base. There's obviously room on some campsites.
NOYeah I’ve just been to view one!
I was passing, it was rude not to
As long as you have a SMART to tow behind it would be superb. Without marooned on sites. We have a Concorde and love it... horses for courses in my view!
It depends on your preferred mode of travel. If you don't want to stay on sites, go wilding into very cold climates, be self-sufficient in terms of power, etc they take a lot of beating.
We have a new, 8 months old Hymer BMCT 600 Whiteline. Had Mercedes’ assist out twice now, ran out of use in the M25 (when range was reported as 119 miles in the dash) and up France when the dash went completely blank. Both fixed of course, but make you think a bit about Mercs. Having said that it is fully warranted and will have Mercedes’ assist for life so not too bothered. Drives like a dream on a 9 speed automatic 170 bhp I think and currently getting 26.4 mph out of it. Very few minor issue with the Hymer habitation pod so far.We have had 3 previous Mercedes Motorhomes, 3 year old, a 17 month old and a brand new one. Great when they work. Cost a fortune to run and can be utterly unreliable and let down by disgraceful Mercedes Dealer network.
I stole our last motorhome, well nicked it as they say in the trade. The previous owner had it stuck in Spain and I paid them half what they paid for it to get the problem off their hands. Very proud of our now 22 year old Fiat Hymer. Starts every time. Which is more than could be said of any of the Mercedes. All of which had to be recovered at least once.
Only downsides. Not the most dynamic thing to drive and no Cab A/C. And I have never got stuck in the snow. Which is why I always opted for the RWD Mercedes, two of which were twin real wheels.
That was at camping Zeester just over Belgium border GAVLAD .auto entry brand new clean tidy shower blocksI think they’re both lovely vans.
Where abouts are you Tombola ? It looks a nice aire.
Anyway to take your inadequacy feelings away, imagine owning this.
The ‘base vehicle’ if you can call it that is a Renault Clio. (Don’t think it’s moved for a while)

The point being 'the luxury of space' 350L Fresh, 300L black (not filling or tipping constantly) Queen sized bed, full shower, Washer and drier if needed etc etc. Somebody mentioned Cornwall? We wouldn't bother as they don't like Grockles/Tourists, but they LOVE your money, there just not getting a penny off me.I’d take the Rapido every time. The other thing looks more like a bus to me or an American RV. Really suitable for Cornwall (NOT) and really good mpg (NOT). Honestly, when they get that big what’s the point?
Ours was the one on the Left!Sad but I have to admit, i need the van to be level
As you say it is down to what you are using it for, i agree for general European summer travel a smaller van is more practical, if I decided to do much longer trips including winter in a bigger country eg the states i would be tempted for something larger, money no object of course.Doesn't appeal to me one bit. It looks like the Heathrow Express and it'd be a liability and totally impractical for my choice of wanderings.
