I shall self isolate at Draycote reservoir this coming week 600 odd acres to fish

Do they actually need to move it to do the check?Took the van to Wellington this week to have the brake pipe recall done, wasn't there 5mins told everything was ok the van never moved from where I parked it.
No. It's about a minute to check both clips are in place and intact. It takes longer of they are not!Do they actually need to move it to do the check?
Which could be why it physically never moved then so could have been checked but the owner didn't know it had.No. It's about a minute to check both clips are in place and intact. It takes longer of they are not!
Take up all your floorboards, turn them over and screw them all back again.Does anyone have any 'get up and go' ideas which do not involve leaving the house?
I think if you hang around Tebay southbound on the M6 you may just have a convoy tomorrowTo be honest I had not read all the posts, but to add a bit of silliness here, I am in the same boat in a manor of speaking. So I suggest a bit of silliness ; why not every one agree to get the diesel tank of your Motorhome filled at one of these self service places where you don't need to go into pay, you pay at the pump. Then all proceed to a meeting place, say a motorway service station, stay in the vehicles so we are still in isolation, and make a convoy just like that song, and drive around just following each other just for the fun of it, and just because we can, and hey we are still in isolation but having fun
I know I said it is silly and okay it may not be practical, but, it would certainly turn a few heads, with about twenty or more motorhomes in convoy .
Silly Flook
Exactly. When we took our's in, the mechanic came out to the parking area and checked it while we sat in the van. Pop the bonnet; look both sides with an inspection lamp; close bonnet. It took longer to say it was all OK and to complete the paperwork.Which could be why it physically never moved then so could have been checked but the owner didn't know it had.
I am really not depressed, it is not my style, frustrated, deprived of one of the most enjoyable parts of my life; well yes! All bookings and plans, travel to look forward to are gone to the wall BUT loads of people are far worse of than I am, both in their health and disappointments. However, as I mentioned originally, the frustration of looking at our van, our now static van outweighs any enthusiasm for cleaning or making improvements which I have previously enjoyed so much. Good luck to you all.Well, this thread seems to have merged with another one about whether or not we should be out in our motorhome s (interesting stuff there). To get back to your original post Rosalan, there is always someone worse off than you, not that it helps much. Hopefully you have your health still and are isolating for safety where a little depression is inevitable. There is nothing you can do about it but you can at least lose the negativity. Try being coeliac and undergoing chemo therapy like me, now that should be depressing! The shelf stripping idiots have taken all the gluten free stuff even though they don’t have a problem with gluten. I still have to go to hospital for chemo therapy, and that’s where the virus is most likely to be, but am I depressed? No... what’s the point in being like that?
If our local geography were different, we could climb in through the drivers door, put on the hook-up powered tv or watch a video, even read a book but the slope on our driveway could defeat most of our ambitions. We have a heater in our sloping van, that works well.rosalan
Getting back to the OP we can't see our motorhome, but wish we could, if we had a drive we would be using it, sitting in there telly on a travel program and pretending. We may be safe isolating, but worry our van may be at risk even though in gold storage.
had to retrieve some meds i had left in the van so went to collect them, vans that rarely move are missing but many which would be isssing at this time of year are still n their spots. we did think about trying to get away for a few days, but decided we might put others at risk. the stringent measures in places like Italy don't seem to be working, so doubt our 'make up your own mind' ones will be effective either.
So Alan and Rosalie, get out into your van, take a flask, take some sandwiches, relive some of your travels and chill. Think you might have to rethink holiday attire though, you might scare the neighbours.
Chocks?, annoyed as we have the space, but no access. If our local geography were different, we could climb in through the drivers door, put on the hook-up powered tv or watch a video, even read a book but the slope on our driveway could defeat most of our ambitions. Thank you Pappajohn but our Georgian floorboards, when turned upside down would be more decorative than functional, as each board has been individually notched for the joists to keep the floor levelish. I confess your idea had not previously crossed my mind.Take up all your floorboards, turn them over and screw them all back again.
That'll keep you busy for a day or two.
Chocks... now there is an idea. I will not bore you with why not chocks other than to say that pedestrians in our village, which I must be two yards away from, may need to get inside my safety wall or walk on the road. That could result in some harsh comments in the Parish Magazine which I could never contemplate but thanks!Chocks?, annoyed as we have the space, but no access.
you would think they would ask customers to video call for a recall like that even more so nowExactly. He did say it was a bit of a PITA were the clips missing or broken as he would then have ad to examine the brake pipes. If they were at all abraded, they would have needed to be changed which he said was a 'right bleedin job'!
