Hymer's Easter Holiday Tour...

I am about to embark on a full fact finding journey into the mysteries that lie behind my dash panel in the region of the multi-way steering column switch.

There are several strange anomalies occurring leading me to suspect a loose earth somewhere as well as a faulty/stuck/broken switch...

My supervisor/boss is heading for the laundrette in the ajacent marina.

The joys of the road when raining hey!

JJ

I am discovering lots!

Was Reading the header and wondered why
you would take your Hymen on a Holiday Tour:Rofl1:

One thing I have learnt today is that you can remove the indicator switch thingy from my Hymer by undoing one screw and without removing any of the dashboard or front shelf panel.

but at least you have had a chance to clean out under there. Any loose wires? did you mange to get the wipers going by shorting across the switch points (effectively bypassing the switch)

I did have to remove all the gubbins anyway Roger in order to gain easy access to the wiper motor.

I have established that the switch is faulty and not having a spare I have effected a classy bodge.

The motor has four wires to it and by removing the black one it has disabled the intermittent wipe and the 1st speed one but the top speed wipe still functions.:thumb:

The indicators are working.

Result.

When I get back to base camp there is an auto electrician next door and he will probably be able to effect a repair or find a replacement.

We continue the tour tomorrow... heading east...

Cripes!

Let's face it... there's clean and there's clean.

If this van gets any cleaner I won't be allowed inside...

(Except to drive it of course...:Rofl1:)

JJ:Cool:

Sun was forecast so we were sad to wake up to rain.

But Mr Sun now has his hat on so we are off to Castro Marim for black tank duty and then back west to Ourique and the Monte Rocha dam.

JJ

A beautiful motorhoming day!

First we said goodbye to the King of the Algarve aka Smudger.

Then we did our van chores... black and grey emptied at the Castro Marim aire and fresh water filled at a secret location on the 125.

A bit of diesel (bio) and on into the beautiful town of Tavira for lunch and a visit to my guru Leonardo who, after well over 30 years living in his van, now is in a charming town house. As he is 84 I forgive him for going back to bricks!

Then a gorgeous, gentle 110 kms to the dam at Monte Rocha and an early evening socialising in the (very) bar/restaurant with a super couple who have a property just up the road.

Post this and then think about a light supper.

Oi .... I love Spain:BigGrin: and as a matter of fact had I had more time we would have gone to Zahora to meet up with Marie and Rex (Penelopepitstop). But a too big distance for just a few hours ....we had to make decisions and indeed we prefer to see them at Malvern if possible. We'll have more time (well ...I'll have more time as JJ has all the time he wants!):Wink:

Amicalement

Now you 2 be aware when planning that I fly to Scotland with my best friend (probably her last travel...)on the 2sd of May and returning on the 5th , then 2 days work then off again to London with my parents on the 9th of May and returning on the 11th !:thumb::thumb:

The morning at Monte Rocha featured the arrival of the local grass cutting equipment...

After lunch we proceeded to Lagoa de St Andre where the VIP helped a couple of her country folk who decided to park on the sand with the inevitable outcome.

The next day we headed for Pego Alter where we were joined by celebrity Funsters, Bob and Jane and Izzy. Izzy makes friends with Jimmy, an hard core street dog who rules the area and is fed by all the motorhomers.

Last night we parked by Lisbon airport and now Frankie is back in Balma and I am back in Ansiao...

An excellent, highly enjoyable mini tour which has ended far too quickly.
