Hymer Swing 494
Hi folks,
Wonder if anyone can help please.
I have a Hymer Swing 494 - Year 2001
Having recently repaired (successfully) a mixer tap leak and repaired a waste pipe on my toilet sink.
But now when I turn on any water tap to my main sink, toilet sink or use the toilet flush, although the water is coming through my taps it is running out my drainage valve under the van.
All was working fine prior to leak and waste pipe damage.

Sounds like the frost protection valve is open.
It's probably the one with a red button, usually next to the boiler.
Just give the button a pull up

Thanks Figaro,
I’ve looked where you suggested but no joy !
Bearing in mind it’s a 2001 Hymer Swing
Will it definitely have one !, if so does anyone know the exact location please!

As Figaro says, probably the frost protection valve is open. If it's the one with the red button, then it needs a 12V supply to it to keep it on(closed). If the 12V isn't there (battery disconnected, etc) then the valve won't click closed when you pull up the red button.

It is meant to automatically open when the temperature in that area drops to about 4 or 5 degrees C. I presume that at this time of the year it's not that cold, but you can judge that for yourself. It drains the boiler to avoid expensive frost damage.

The later model valves with the blue turn-button don't need a 12V supply, but the red button valves do.

It's generally next to the boiler beneath the wardrobe, set inline on the pipe work.
Is that your setup or something different ?
It certainly should have one.

Can you take a photo down the side of the boiler and upload it on here.

For it to do its job, it needs to be very close to the water heater, say within 30cm of it. If it's a Truma system then the space heater and water heater are all one device. Also it's probably on the floor, because it drains out the water through the floor, and has to be low enough to empty more or less all the water by gravity. And you should be able to see the water pouring out of it underneath.

Check the base of the wardrobe. We had a newer model swing and it was in there. We had to keep the valve closed with a clothes plug when it was cold as it opened around 8 deg. Doesn't have to be freezing cold
