I was talking to a fella in the Park today in Douglas. He says a group of 70 vans are comimmg over for a Rally and staying at Nobles Park

No one invited us to tag along. Is it because we have a scabby Carado - wannabe Hymer

Peter the current president is a nice bloke and wife Vivian both are very friendly and not stuck up like a lot of the members.
Seek them out and have a chat.
Even when a few years ago they had a Carthago for a couple of years they still went to Hymer rallies.

Excuse my ignorance, is HOG a completely different/unrelated group to HCI?
Yes, HCI - Hymer Club International, it's actually the British Hymer Club.

HOG - Hymer Owners Group just a Facebook group, very up their own arse. My first post mentioned Hymer are only a mid range van. I got booted straight off.

I'm an oldbie MH number 10
They are known to be rather selective :whistle2:

how come I got in then? But then again, how come I never got an invite to the rally?

I disagree about the HOG group, lots of really good info on there if you need it, which of course I don't having a top of the range German marque, but I do agree regarding the way that it is ran, poor lady got proper slaughtered the other week for daring to take her van to a dealer that wasn't recommended by the person mentioned above.

On and off since 95
I was kicked off the hog group for stating that motorhomes were not required by law to have motorhome tyres fitted. And that commercial van tyres were perfectly adequate if you used your van regularly.

Paul the muppet said that wasn't allowed and that the group sponsors objected.

Most likely he gets back handers from the traders on the group

He'd previously told me off for telling someone else the riech water pump was cheaper on ebay than the company they had a discount scheme with lol

An absolute muppet of a man.
