Hymer B754 2.8 JTD Tag Axle is it Rear Wheel Drive?

didn't fiat build a few toy 4x4 vans?

Not sure about Fiat but we had a few 4x4 Talbot vans for breakdown and towing work before they became Peugeot. They were not very popular and no better on wet grass than the front wheel drive Talbots.

If reversing a fwd vehicle, does that then become rwd 😂😂😂
You added smileys.. however plenty threads in past where Funsters are adamant that yes.... if FWD and you stuck then yes make your van RWD by reversing out.
I agree with your smileys... reversing won't make jot of difference and I have watched many who tried reversing and failed to get unstuck and had to get pulled out.
So to your question..... NO.!!

Technically, yes. :)

reversing won't make jot of difference and I have watched many who tried reversing and failed to get unstuck and had to get pulled out.
I have reversed out of two sticky situations with our FWD Ducato/Hymer, whereupon attempting to drive out, would have seen me stuck in the first couple of feet (pre fitting of winter tyres). ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Thanks mate.
Can I ask have you had any issues with Traction/Moving off fully loaded on, Wet Grass inclines (Rally Fields), Steep Alpine Hairpins etc? Having driven Trucks for years, including Army Pre-In Service Trials and lots of Off Roading, the Front Wheel Drive Configurtaion seems Counter Intuiitve o0n aHeavy Vehicle?

Grint. Just seen your post Ian. Your career and experiences are very similar to mine, except that I was a Brylcreem Boy rather than a Pongo. ................ ;)

Once in Germany on an extremely steep incline, (pre fitting of winter tyres), I did have to stop and empty my full water tank, which then lost enough weight for the FWD to cope, and get me going again.......................but that was the only time apart from the wet grass thing, solved by reversing out and later by the winter tyres. If going ahead with the B754, (great layout), and travelling abroad over winter, you will need either full winter tyres, or "all season" tyres with the 3 x peak mud and snow flake symbols on the side walls. (3PMSF).

On the FWD Ducato/Hymer I had Bridgestone Blizzaks. On the RWD Iveco/Flair i have Falken Euro All Season Van 2, with the 3PMSF symbols.

Good luck if going for the B754. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)
