We had the wiper stalk, control and motor replaced and after a couple of weeks of use they stopped working this Saturday. The fuses and connector blocks appear ok. I need to check the wiring more thourily but I was wondering if there was any fuses that aren't mentioned in the Fiat or Hymer manuals or other gotchas. The van is a 2007 model.

Also worth checking the fuses that look ok with a multi meter, on the continuity setting. They can look ok but have “gone”. On the other info, I can’t help, sorry. I’m sure someone that knows homers will be along soon. Good luck

It stopped raining long enough to get under the bonnet with a multimeter and it looks like the WSF unit may be at fault. Does anyone have any experience of fixing or replacing these? To add to the challenge we are in Spain and our insurance doesn't allow us to take the van back to the UK until October.

Do you mean the Schaudt relay box as that is a common problem, you can buy them online there are versions 1, 2 & 3.
Often it can be just a poor connection check all the wiring carefully.

Bit more information incase anyone else has this problem: apparently if there is power going into the WSF unit and not out then the problem is almost certainly the WSF. The WSF responds to trigger voltages on 3 cables, I assumed that as the voltage on them wasn't 12v they weren't working but the actual trigger voltages are tiny.

What is this please ?
It is the control unit for the windscreen wipers, converts the triggers from the stalk control into power to the appropriate cable to the wiper motor. On our Hymer it is a rectangular box on the right hand side of the bonnet as you look in. There are 3 versions.

Did you identify which you need and get a replacement ?

Ours is a Schaudt WSF 01. I don't know how many different versions there are out there and their interchangeability, I was looking on eBay and came across a 02-02 which said that it was not compatible with the 01. I am struggling to find a source for a replacement, the one we have that failed was refurbed but as we are in Spain and it was repaired in the UK it is a bit tricky getting it sorted plus I would like a spare now!!! I am looking for an EU source.

Contacted Schaudt via the Lippert site. The WSF 01 is definitely not being made any more and none of the replacements are compatible. Schaudt will only repair units sent in by a motorhome dealer. Oh joy.

How frustrating, meanwhile your left with no wipers ?
Can you open the box to see what's in it ?
Is it some kind of relay ?

Our Hymer's wipers failed twice. First one was repaired under warranty. Second time was in France. Advice from someone on this forum said that the problem could be the connector on the back may come loose. Checked and it seemed to be loose so used a cable tie around the unit and connector and pulled hard. That solved the problem.

I bought a new unit from Brownhills and I have been carrying it about just in case. So far OK!
