One of the selling points for hydraulic levellers seems to be that you can raise the vehicle off the ground and any thief will need to put it back on the ground before they can steal it, so any passcode / switch etc for the levelling system is a security aid.

Do people with levellers use this feature?

Or does a vehicle that is raised off the ground slightly in a car park stand out more than others and is then more of a target for thieves (ie the van looks more expensive)?

Depends what security system you have, if a thief can Hotwire and start the engine and realise the handbrake they will come up automatically!!
Me, I have them and no I don’t see it as a security feature, I have my Vanbitz growler and non starter for that👍👍

I have them and do leave them down when in storage to take the pressure off the tyres, but I don't use or see them as a security measure, albeit by their very nature they will prevent the motorhome being towed or dragged on a low loader.

Most (but not all) systems connect theirs to the handbrake switch to automatically return them when the handbrake is released (my E&P does), but they would need to start the engine for that, so a decent alarm and/or immobiliser is really essential in any case.

They just nick your wheels instead 😂

I can passcode the control panel on mine which in effect locks them in the down position. I normally set them down to the 'steadied' but not levelled position and then apply the passcode when parked on the drive.

Our M-Level levellers controller has a passcode, are not interlocked with the handbrake (it's a dash mounted switch button, not a lever beside the seat), cannot start the engine until retracted. The controller can be taken with us.

We use the levellers at home where we have a 'pitch' that the MH lives on, in the air, to keep the wheels off the ground. The 'pitch is a single way entry with house on one side, embankment on the other and a sleeper retaining wall holding back the garden at the closed end. We have 2 other vehicles blocking it in. We have cameras on the MH and house.

The MH has an immobiliser and tracker.

There are claymores on the drivers seat, the house wall. A pit with spikes and plastic grass covering the hole at each door and hatch position. The MH is wired to the nearby 25Kv railway OHLE permanently live. There is a moat with crocodiles swimming around the perimeter of the 'pitch'.

For the avoidance of doubt the 1st three paragraphs are false ;):LOL:(y)

No tribe of pigmies with poison darts living inside to protect it? I thought you took security seriously.

I have just had the E&P levelling system fitted, I don't know about added security but I wouldn't be without it now.

I use mine parked at home, but just to raise it enough to take load off the tyres, but not when parked while away unless for overnight to level and reduce any wobbles. As others have said if they can start it an release the handbrake the legs raise up anyway. It does negate the need to carry a jack though.
