Huge queues again. No reason given.

Absolutely not my experience in France ( St Malo) last month , French Border control were achingly slow , it’s the 21st Century digital age , why do you think they are rubber stamping passports ? It’s childish revenge .
They have to stamp them because of the 90 day rule. When ETIAS kicks in then we'll have our 90 day start date/time recorded electronically, but you'll most likely need to get out of your vehicle to do retina/face scan etc., so expect more delays Your post at #3 is incorrect, it was the British immigration services causing the problems this time.

We came Dunkirk - Dover on 12pm ferry today. We were early, 10am, and no hold ups at all. Van searched twice, no fridge check, and good look at passports tho.

Why would there be a fridge check going to UK? There are not the restrictions on taking food into UK like into EU.

To ensure you don't overstay the 90 day maximum that you wanted.

Wait until next year when the EITAS visa that were also voted for, come into play.
Then instead of rubber stamps they will be after your fingerprints!
Can you please get over the 'what you voted' for thing? It's history. Please can we move on?

Going to Calais about 6 weeks ago in the middle of all the headlines was bliss....straight through, 5 mins max at the checkpoint in Dover.
Coming back 2 weeks ago was a pain in the arse again at Calais.
They had about 10 lines open, about 25 vehicles in front of me and my lane moved at least 3 times slower than the others. One of the main reasons it moved was because vehicles were coming out of it in frustration and joining other lanes.
It was a chubby british guy around 35 with a kind of beard who was totally useless. His shift finished and an older bald guy came to the fore and we flew through the border soon after.

Have you seen the size of my fridge? 😀
