HUAWEI router abroad , what am I doing wrong

If it’s a Motorhome Wifi (the company that is) set up, then give them a call. I had to as I had the same problem, and they talked me through it.

I spent a month in Ireland at short notice and had problems with huawei router purchased from motorhome wifi, phones out of data and email provided instructions. When I asked to speak the lady said they didn’t give instructions or talk throughs!!
Nearly threw it in the river barrow

I had a similar experience with Motorhomeeifi and when I spoke to the lady she said she had an 84 year old who managed to get set up using their instructions!!! I guess I will have to wait 20 years to be able to get connected!! After sales service is abysmal. I have given up now.

*Some* SIM cards don’t work in a mifi (mines a Huawei). Having found this out about a year ago, I know take the mifi into the shop I’m purchasing the sim from to make sure it works, before I leave the shop.

Far as I know! I'm in France at moment. All Mifi and Routers have an interface this is mine http://192.168.8.1/ it's Huawei. Access that and change your setting to allow data roaming, mobile data and auto select network to on. I'm using a Spanish sim and getting 5G speeds of 120gb. Lousy upload speed though. What Router have you got?

I gave a HUAWEI router and a smarty sim , we are in Spain at the moment and I know the sim is working as I have put it in my spare phone but I can’t get internet connection when I put it in the router . It recognises the router but no connection, it’s doing my head in , HELP PLEASE

I had a similar problem with my Netgear air card. Smarty Sim but because it’s part of 3 I thought that clicking on 3 in settings son it would work . Wrong two knowledgeable English lads, one with a PhD in AI reset as Smarty . Worked a treat from then on in.

You have to enable data roaming on your mifi. I had to do the same on mine. Press the menu button on the top 7 times and tick the box

This might be a bit late but I have a Huawei router and I had a 30Gb smarty sim. We are in Spain and Smarty are as useful as a chocolate teapot, despite various contact in the UK and setting up the Sim for European use. I now have a Spanish Motorola PAYG sim (€10 for 40Gb) and everything works!!!
