I could guess that the black tap is a drain as it goes out through the floor, as far as hot water is concerned it looks like the switch for the Truma might be in the middle which will be off so either 50 or 70 should/might work.

Black tap is water tank drain.
For hot water the rocker switch needs to be to 50 for 50 degree water or 70 for 70 degree centigrade water.

You probably need to fill the boiler with water first by simply turning on a hot tap, this may take a few minutes and a bit of sputtering and spitting until you get a steady flow, then you can try selecting hot water with your thermostat (50°/70°)
The boiler might need a bit of purging to get it to fire up, so you may have to select the temperature a couple of times to let it go through it's start-up procedure.
Your red light might just be indicating the gas hasn't got there yet (check to see if it's gas supply is physically turned on, you should have a bank of three or four gas taps [fridge, cooker, oven, etc] so check those first) and if that doesn't work, the red light may indicate some other fault ?
As mentioned earlier, try and find the boiler number and do a search for a manual.

BEFORE turning on the hot water:

Make sure you have gas, (Does the hob light ?)
Make sure you have at least a 50% full main cold water tank, (50 litres)
You MUST fill the hot water tank first.
(Like kettle, you don't want to put it on empty!)

To fill the hot water tank:
Turn on both the hot taps in the basins.
Initially air will come out.
Then after a minute or two of air and then spluttering, you should get (cold) water coming out of both taps.

Now switch on the hot water to '50'c
It may take an hour before you get warm water.

The hot water tank is probably about 20-25 liters, which is enough for a shower.

The black tap is the hot water tank drain.
There will be one somewhere else to drain down the main cold water tank.
Personally I drain down my system every time we return from a trip when we know we will not be using the van for at least 2 weeks.

You MUST drain down the tanks before the first frosts.
Otherwise ice can damage the very small heating elements in the boiler, the replacement cost will have a comma in it.

Getting better month by month.
Before switching on the gas to the boiler, check you don’t have a flue cover on. Many times a red light is showing means gas flue restricted which could be the cover. Once removed; if you have one, follow all of the above. 👍🏻

Thankyou for all you help and information...found black tap to drain cold water tank..but didn't see one for hot water..so will go hunting for that...also maybe we didn't fill cold tank up enough..so maybe reason why it didn't work...Will also do you two tap water run and see if that helps although we did have cold water out of kitchen hot water tap..so hopefully that means no air locks etc...as a newbie to all this I'm sure with everyone's help on this site I will soon be up and running with all these knobs and switches/do's and donts...🤔😄

I thank you will find that the yellow lever tap is the boiler drain tap, cannot remember which position it needs to be in to work. if water comes out when filling the system move it to the vertical position.
