How warm is Spain & Portugal this time of year.?

Currently in Nerja, 12:19pm and 21 degrees and blue sky :giggle: Meant to be cloudier and cooler tomorrow with the prospect of up to 2mm of rain - then back to sunshine for the rest of the week!! Wonderful

We’re in Santiago de Compostela, it’s 8:30am.
It’s raining!
It’s been raining for 14 hours non stop.
The next dry spell is 3:00am tomorrow.
It will be dry for 3 hours.
Then the rain will start again.
The next dry day will be Saturday!
No wonder they call it Green Spain.
It raines when we were there a few years ago - torrential, and our wiper motor decided to collapse! Citroen garage said because it was right hand drive, they would have to order a complete assembly, with wipers and everything (expensive and a week to supply!). Luckily the bright spark we were dealing with thought that because it was a Sevel van, he could put in just a Fiat motor, which he did and it's still going well!

Honestly don‘t know but it’s very hot here in New Zealand, not looking forward to when we return at the end of the month.

Bit far to drive the van for a bit of sun though.

We are currently on Alannia Costa Blanca site which is aboutv25k south west of Alicante. A bit windy today with some cloud but still 17c.
I hope the link below works. It is a personal weather station on one of the big motorhomes on the site. You can look at historic data.

Its been 17-20° every day for the past month between Barcelona and Valencia .
& from Valencia down to Almeria & on it has been even warmer:giggle:
just happy if we can avoid the rain.
been a long while since we have seen any rain here & on the couple of occasions when it did it was mainly at night. we've cloud & sun until wednesday/Thursday & highish winds then back to sun&sun but no rain shown up to the 29th on the forecast which is usually spot on.

It is a bit miserable here in the UK and that post Christmas/new year blues doesn't help. However, personally I'd rather be in the comfort of my home with the log burner blazing than in a normally hot/dry country when it's cloudy and raining. There's nothing more depressing than a deserted, cold, wet holiday resort!

I'm spending the time thinking and planning my post April trips. Might do a few short breaks before then but will just see what the weather's like and go as and when it suits.

Oh the joy of retirement and no commitments!

Well you know what they say about the rain in Spain........
Maybe Santiago is in the middle of the plain.
