I’ve had wives like it, ugly but practical….

Difficult to get started in the morning, warm to be inside, able to get it going with a single flick and costs a fortune to run

Funnily enough, just after the pic posted by the OP I thought... Not Ugly to me. Actually I like it very much! And you said exactly what instantly spread to my mind....

I also thought cute and unique as I'm sat in a boring grey fiat

Wandering around an old town in de Nederlands clutching brown envelopes and seeking to buy some stamps, I encountered a local lady..
"Hi.." says I .. "Do you speak English?"
"Of course" came the (expected) reply
"Where can I buy stamps, please" waving the envelopes.
"Not in this town, anymore" she replied.
I must've looked crestfallen as we were living on our boat at the time and I said 'Ohhh .. these are our referendum postal votes"
"Come with me, this is important, I have stamps at home you can have !"

En route back to the boat, forms posted, I encountered this ... the retro Citroen H van in another thread prompted this post. Has anyone seen uglier ?

Going back to your original story, we found the Netherlands to have the most lovely people that we have ever encountered on our travels!

Couldn’t agree more , one of our top destinations, great places to pitch up .

Yep, the old Sahara dust gets everywhere. Always spent the first day of any holiday cleaning it off stuff at my apartment on the Costa Blanca.
