How to Use a Multimeter to Test Power in PSU to Boiler

On you three ports the middle is common so Black, the right hand one Red. Set the dc volts to 20, if the voltage shows a little flashing black square the + & - are the wrong way around. Best not to use the left hand port as if you get it wrong you will do the meters fuse in. To test if the fuses are good turn the dial to the white mark at 5 o’clock touch a lead to each end of the fuse you should hear a buzzer

Could try this guy (off a different forum)

Don't know who Alde UK have given you but the person I've used for parts is
Graham Cutmore 00441933622593.
He is ex Alde and superb, I'm in France and his service has always been excellent and very quick, nice guy to talk with as well.
Thank you. Motorhome is only 9 months old and already Alde had to fit a new panel on 5th December. Assume I am still under warranty but waiting for them to respond. Bad time of year for this to happen I suppose. thank you and will keep his details. What happens if issues with Alde system whilst abroad?

I guess you have an underlying issue which hasn't been identified, these things are normally pretty reliable I thought - Perhaps time for Alde to do a few more checks on the installation. Sorry it doesn't help you now though...

Tried everything I can based on my skill set. Will do the multimeter thing first from PSU to boiler and go from there. Thanks again

Just a thought and I keep thinking, when did this go wrong

20Th December we visited our local motorhome electrics man to sort wiring out from motorhome harness to our trailer attached to chassis for moped and 2 electric bikes (Attachment)

Everything back working except for fog light as he said there was no connection for it? What do I know. During the night outside our window, we see the fog light light up? Even with no lights on, no ignition and engine not running and fog light switch def OFF Spooky? My question is, would something like an electrical harness interfere with habitat electrics? Alde panel etc. was fine as I remember till I returned from electrician.

Thank you

Steve

Hmm - I wonder if there is some poor connection/earth from wherever he spliced into the wiring loom that is arcing and causing the power supply to the Alde some issues. Would have thought the trailer electrics would be run from the vehicle loom - but if the fog light is coming on, it must be connected to something, seemingly intermittent. Might be worth following the trailer wiring back to the loom to see what was done.....

That tape around the towball wiring looks a bit sus, water getting in there might set the fog light on ?
Looks like you have a plug just under the bumper for the towball wiring too, try unplugging that, then and see if it affects the heater ?

Your motorhome trailer socket should be wired incorporating a towing relay. This is because modern vehicles have a canbus wiring system that works with the ECU. This accommodates the connections for all the rear light’s including fog lights. If fitted correctly there’s no chance of the fog light working on it’s own.

thank you, unplugged harness but still no power to control panel. Back to electrician to sort and then probably to Alde Thank you all
