Asked the same question but to a different forum for tech advice, the attachment is the advice provided. I have not done the job yet but am confident of getting it done. The vent is easy to see, its on one of the smaller hoses, middle of the engine bay just under the scuttle. I don't have a pic but can get one if you need it, its a round cap with a hex on the top. Note the mention of the drain from the engine side. My Van is a 2015 Boxer

I am not familiar with the boxer, however as a general rule it is a good idea to have the heater set to hot when you drain the coolant incase the heating system has a valve which diverts engine coolant through the heater radiator when set to hot, some systems have coolant continuously flowing through the heater radiator and just have a flap that diverts hot air away from the cabin but if you don’t know definitely then just turn the heater setting to hot to be safe.

All engines have a top and bottom coolant hose on the radiator.
Locate and pull off the bottom hose, around 2" wide, with the heater control to hot and drain down.....refit hose.
Refill via the small cap on the radiator or on the expansion bottle.

Never change my coolant. It gets checked for strength when serviced and that’s all it needs.

Your coolants rust inhibitor has an average lifespan of 2-3 years, although it might still meet the freeze protection requirements for some time after that, which is why I change my coolant after 3 years.
