Has anyone worked out how to open a 2018 Boxer passenger door when the battery is flat? I can't open the bonnet without opening the passenger door. Our continental cousins obviously don't have this problem. I know I shouldn't have let it get so flat but access problems led to this.

Jump leads for jump-starting are thick because they carry a heavy current over a long distance for running the starter motor. If you just want to recharge the starter battery, you can use much thinner cable. For example some 4mm sq T&E, with croc clips attached. Maybe you could set up something that is long enough to reach and could be used to charge up the battery from your car battery, while the car engine is running. Let it charge for an hour or so, that should put some charge into it, maybe even enough to try starting the engine. Disconnect those thin jump leads first though.

To my knowledge all ducatos, peugeot & citroëns cab doors have it.In some cases it needs dealer activation.
All Fords have it.
I suspect there are a number of options on sevel vans that are market or customer dependant ( ie customers taking large numbers.) I was also told 5years ago that there was a difference. Main dealer activation i can understand (it was a main dealer i was talking to) one little thing that is customer dependent is the sump protection system from zero to one sided to full.

Put the key in the drivers side door lock and turn to open the door that will work even if the cab battery is flat then you will be able to open the passenger side door from inside the cab. You do not need a fully charged battery to do that in fact you don't even need a battery to be connected, it's called manual operation.
But unfortunately you won’t be able to relock the passenger door.

Central locking requires a solenoid in each door to be activated by an electric current, the battery is flat! The door won’t open. If I remember correctly there is a 6mm hole on the inside of the door just above the door lock, inside the hole is a lever that operates the lock and unlock mechanism. Up for unlock, down to lock….. or perhaps the other way round, can’t remember!
I also think you can open the door from the inside by pulling the internal door handle, the mor I think about it this MUST be the case as it’s a vital safety feature in case of an accident….

Cheers!

My battery was flat the other week opened the driver door then just opened the passenger door from inside. Didn’t know there was a switch to deadlock it.

We have a boxer and the battery charger / jump leads are connected under the bonnet and not directly onto the battery.

Hi guys, thanks for all of the suggestions. I eventually got the battery out by becoming a contortionist and entering from the drivers door. The problem with access was because the van was in storage with very little room to move. The van was actually stuck in the mud because of all of the rain, I had to wait until the ground froze to get it out of the site, it's not going back! The joys of Campervans!
